DESCRIPTION:By exploring yourself through breath you’ll learn the tools which are useful every day if you find yourself in a stressful situation.\n\n\nWe start of by shaking off our body’s to lose tension\, once we’ve done a quick shake we settle down in a sacred circle\, checking the way we breathe without controlling our breath. SUMMARY:LGBTQ+ Community Meditation
DESCRIPTION:This guided meditation group creates a unique space for LGBTQ+ people to foster friendship and practice meditation.\n\n\nThe sessions will feature a variety of mindfulness\, loving-kindness and wisdom meditations. There’ll also be sharing & connecting\, poetry and more. Through this\, we’ll cultivate a warm awareness of our own experience and go beyond the individual to explore how we can grow and flourish as a community. There’ll also be the option to socialise in the cafe area after. \nNo prior meditation experience required. Also suitable for those who are trying to establish a regular practice within a supportive environment. \nSessions are free\, with an optional donation towards establishing a permanent LGBTQ+ community centre. DESCRIPTION:A series of free workshops for makers to come together\, connect and produce squares to go towards our Blankets for London project.\n\n\nThe Knit Club is open to anyone interested in approaching crafting and textile art for the first time and to any creative who wants an opportunity to make together and connect with other makers. \nThe workshops provide participants not only with a new skill\, but with an opportunity to bond with others. Workshops are structured in a welcoming\, non-hierarchical environment\, to nurture participants’ mental and physical health. Participants are encouraged to progress at their own pace\, ask for help when needed and can access the workshops regardless of skill level. \nThe Knit Club is an opportunity for intergenerational cohesion\, addressing the fostering of community and creating a supportive environment. We create an intergenerational space to establish long-term community relationships using the proven benefits of the crafts of knitting and crocheting. \nAbout the facilitator: \nCraft Forward is a Community Interest Company established in 2022\, dedicated to making arts and crafts accessible to everyone. Based in London\, we focus on creating community-centred experiences that prioritise well-being and inclusivity over technical achievements. Our initiatives\, such as the Blankets for London project\, demonstrate the power of small\, creative actions to address broader social issues. By offering workshops that encourage skill development and community connection\, we aim to dismantle elitism in the arts. SUMMARY:Trans Admin Group
DESCRIPTION:A peer support space to tackle the sometimes stressful work of name changes\, medical appointments\, passport applications and more admin.\n\n\nDo you have admin that you need to do around your transition? Would you like some support? Perhaps you want to legally change your name or your bank details? \nThese Trans Admin Group support sessions are a space where you can come to with any trans admin that you’re needing to do: \nSometimes we just need some encouragement from others\, or not to be alone with this. Other times we might have very specific questions or need support with an admin task. Or someone who signs our deed poll\, proof reads an email\, helps us to write a complaint. \nWhatever you are bringing to the sessions\, chances are that someone else has experience with this or tips for you. \nAbout the organiser: \nKai is a London based psychologist and dramatherapist\, and a doctoral researcher at the University of Sussex. He works therapeutically with individuals in private practice\, specialising in the treatment of trauma\, shame\, and stigma. \nKai is passionate about community building and works with groups and organisations to facilitate collective empowerment for survivors of sexual violence\, queer and trans people\, and other marginalised groups.
