SUMMARY:Queer Walking Group: Beachy Head Excursion
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special excursion to the Beachy Head Cliffs in East Sussex under our monthly Queer Walking Group programme.\n\n\nJoin us for an unforgettable day at the stunning Beachy Head Cliffs in East Sussex! Our Queer Walking Group welcomes all LGBTQ+ individuals for a day of scenic hiking\, community bonding\, and fun activities. \nWe’ll kick off the day with a comfortable private coach ride from the Centre’s doorstep directly to the cliffs. The journey is just the beginning of a day filled with breathtaking views\, fresh air\, and meaningful connections. \nIn this session\, you will be able to explore the beautiful coastal paths\, enjoy the natural beauty of the chalk cliffs\, make new friends and strengthen existing connections with LGBTQ+ folks through engaging group activities. \nLight snacks and beverages will be provided\, and you are welcome to bring your own packed lunch. \nTo ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience\, please bring comfortable walking shoes\, weather-appropriate clothing\, and a personal water bottle. \nSpaces are limited\, so early booking is advised. \n \nSchedule (please note that these estimated times): \n10am – Coach pickup from the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre \n12:30pm – Estimated arrival at Beachy Head \n12:30pm-3:30pm – Walking activity (including breaks) \n4pm – Coach pickup from Beachy Head \n4-6:30pm – Estimated arrival at London LGBTQ+ Community Centre \n \nIf you have any concerns/questions on the day\, please refer to any of our staff members who will be wearing name and pronouns badges. \n \nAccessibility: \nMore information on accessibility will be provided as soon as possible. \nCovid and mpox safety at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre: \nTo keep our community safe\, we ask that all participants to not book a ticket if they are feeling any COVID-19 and/or mpox symptoms including headache\, fever\, sore throat\, consistent cough\, chills and unusual spots\, scabs or ulcers. \nYou can wear a mask if you feel more comfortable. DESCRIPTION:Discover a natural way to improve your overall health\, energy and sense of wellbeing through Auricular Acupuncture\n\n\nThis alternative therapy is based on the concept that the ear is a microsystem reflecting the entire body – in a similar way to reflexology. \nThere’s over 200 points on the ear! SUMMARY:LGBTQ+ Community Meditation
DESCRIPTION:This guided meditation group creates a unique space for LGBTQ+ people to foster friendship and practice meditation.\n\n\nThe sessions will feature a variety of mindfulness\, loving-kindness and wisdom meditations. There’ll also be sharing & connecting\, poetry and more. Through this\, we’ll cultivate a warm awareness of our own experience and go beyond the individual to explore how we can grow and flourish as a community. There’ll also be the option to socialise in the cafe area after. \nNo prior meditation experience required. Also suitable for those who are trying to establish a regular practice within a supportive environment. \nSessions are free\, with an optional donation towards establishing a permanent LGBTQ+ community centre. DESCRIPTION:Our monthly 50+ social meetup for bisexual and pansexual folks at an intersectional\, intergenerational and safer LGBTQ+ haven.\n\n\nBi the Way is a dynamic monthly social group designed for bisexual and pansexual individuals to come together and connect. \nOur gatherings offer a warm and supportive environment where you can meet new friends\, share your experiences\, and celebrate your identity. The group gathers every fourth Monday to host a variety of activities\, discussions\, and community events to foster a sense of belonging and fun. \nWhether you’re seeking meaningful conversations or just a good time with like-minded people\, Bi the Way is the perfect place for you. \nAbout the facilitators: \nSophie (she/her) lives in north London with her partner\, in a flat filled with houseplants and books. Sophie has been working in policy and politics for almost ten years. Outside of work she enjoys gardening\, hiking\, going to the gym\, and cooking while singing along (off-key)to music from the 60s and 70s. \nMackenzie (she/her) lives in south London. She’s a graduate student working towards her PhD in Computer Science. Outside of her studies\, she loves to run\, swim\, walk neighborhood dogs\, cheer on Arsenal\, listen to podcasts\, read books\, and eat her way around the city. \nTiarna (she/her) lives in east London. She’s a PhD candidate working in biomedical engineering.
