SUMMARY:The 11th House: Yin Yoga
DESCRIPTION:Join Vaun from The 11th House for Yin Yoga sessions at the Centre.\n\n\nYin Yoga is a therapeutic practice that focuses on long-held (3-5 minutes) seated and reclining postures and is aimed at promoting relaxation and enhancing flexibility\, while targeting deeper layers of fascia. \nIt’s rooted in three key principles – finding your edge\, holding poses\, and relaxing. \nYin Yoga encourages practitioners to comfortably feel a stretch without discomfort\, followed by a period of surrender in stillness. \nThis gentle approach not only improves vitality and overall well-being but also contributes to stress reduction and emotional balance. \nAbout the facilitator \nVaun (they/them) is a London-based wellbeing facilitator with over 10 years of experience guiding Yoga\, Pilates\, Sound Healing\, Kirtan\, and Reiki in diverse environments. \nCommitted to honoring the origins of healing practices while adapting to modern living\, Vaun emphasizes ongoing personal study and reflective practice. \nThey focus on enhancing accessibility and diversity through collaborations with charity initiatives such as Trans Pride\, Black Pride and CIC’s (Community interest Companies) like The Black Wellbeing Collective\, founding the 11th House wellbeing oriented sober spaces catering to the queer community\, and co-facilitating workshops for Black men with Mandem on The Mat. \nAccessibility \nThe Centre’s accessibility statement is here. \nCovid safety at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre \nTo keep our community safe\, we ask that all visitors do not visit the Centre if they are feeling unwell including headache\, fever\, sore throat\, consistent cough and chills. \nYou can wear a mask if you feel more comfortable.
