SUMMARY:Queer Women and Non-Binary Breathwork
DESCRIPTION:A breathwork session for queer women and non-binary people to explore themselves through breath and learn tools to help stressful situations\n\n\nOur Queer Women and Non-Binary Day is back for another year! The first event of the day is a breathwork session\, led by Iva. \nWe start off by shaking off our bodies to lose tension. Once we’ve done a quick shake we settle down in a sacred circle\, checking the way we breathe without controlling our breath. This involves moving into just noticing where our breath is and how it flows through our body. \nSlowly we start to consciously connect your breath to the rhythm of the breathing exercise we will go through\, elevating our energy of love together and connecting on a higher deeper level with another. \nClosing up with a sacred circle by voluntarily sharing your experience\, feeling oneness and a big group hug. \nDisclaimer: \nIf you’re experiencing one of the following\, please get in touch with us at hello@londonlgbtqcentre.org as we’ll need to share with the facilitator. \n \n\nPregnancy\nAsthma\nEpilepsy\nCardiovascular Diseases\nMental health condition\nPhysical injuries\nCancer\nHigh blood pressure\nSeizures\n\nIn case of not reporting\, you are taking full responsibility for taking place in a breathwork session. \nIf you’re unsure whether this space is for you\, email us at hello@londonlgbtqcentre.org! \nAbout the facilitator: \nIva (she/her) is a very happy\, peaceful\, caring and soul full of love dedicated to teaching breathwork. \nShe works with clients 1:2:1 and leads group sessions and workshops through Iv’s Breathwork Saturday Club. \nAccessibility \nThe Centre’s accessibility statement is here. \nCovid safety at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre \nTo keep our community safe\, we ask that all visitors do not visit the Centre if they are feeling unwell including headache\, fever\, sore throat\, consistent cough or chills. \nYou can wear a mask if you feel more comfortable. SUMMARY:DramaQueers for Queer Women and Non-Binary People
DESCRIPTION:A special DramaQueers session for LGBTQ+ women and non-binary people.\n\n\nOur Queer Women and Non-Binary Day is back for another year! \nThis is a special edition of DramaQueers\, a monthly meetup hosted at the Centre\, to explore different methods of performance. We usually start with some warm up games before then either devising some short scenes\, reading some scripts\, play with moving our bodies or whatever other creative activities take our fancy! \nWe are an informal group aimed at having fun and creating community and space for everyone to feel safe and be free to explore their selves through drama and performance. \nThe workshops are run by Beckah from the London Intersectional Arts Collective. They are trans/genderqueer and disabled and their aim is to make these workshops accessible for all. \nWe welcome everybody regardless of orientation\, gender\, age\, race\, ethnicity – all we require is an open mind\, a desire to try\, respect for pronouns and a wish to perform! Doesn’t matter if you are a newbie or pro\, just wear some comfy clothes and come along. \nAbout the organiser: \nBeckah (they/them) is a theatre maker/facilitator and genderqueer person. They studied acting/singing at Sylvia Young and recently graduated from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. \nThey are currently studying their Masters in Theater for Community and Education at Mountview Academy of Theater Arts and are a part of The Old Vic’s Frontline Facilitators. We also have masks and hand sanitiser available at the Centre. \nFor current information on Covid-19 please visit the NHS website. \nDonate to the Centre \nWe rely on donations to ensure that the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre can keep its doors open for years to come. \nTo donate or become a Friend of the Centre\, visit our website.
