SUMMARY:LGBTQ+ Community Meditation
DESCRIPTION:This guided meditation group creates a unique space for LGBTQ+ people to foster friendship and practice meditation.\n\n\nThe sessions will feature a variety of mindfulness\, loving-kindness and wisdom meditations. There’ll also be sharing and connecting\, poetry and more. Through this\, we’ll cultivate a warm awareness of our own experience and go beyond the individual to explore how we can grow and flourish as a community. There’ll also be the option to socialise in the cafe area after. \nNo prior meditation experience required. Also suitable for those who are trying to establish a regular practice within a supportive environment. \nSessions are free\, with an optional donation towards establishing a permanent LGBTQ+ community centre. Please note that we are unable to refund donations. \nDuring this session\, the cafe will be closed. \nPlease ensure that you register before attending. \nAbout the organisers \nCommunity Meditation is led by a group of rotating facilitators who come from various backgrounds and practices. \nAccessibility \nThe Centre’s accessibility statement is here. \nCovid safety at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre: \nTo keep our community safe\, we ask that all visitors do not visit the centre if they are feeling any Covid symptoms including headache\, fever\, sore throat\, consistent cough and chills. \nYou can wear a mask if you feel more comfortable. DESCRIPTION:Spend a chilled Sunday afternoon playing popular board games in African and Caribbean communities.\n\n\nCelebrate UK Black History Month at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre! \nCome spend a chilled Sunday afternoon playing popular board games in African and Caribbean communities\, such as Dominoes\, Oware and card games with other LGBTQ+ folks in a relaxed environment. \nSome games will be provided by organisers\, but you’re welcome to bring your own too! \nAnyone new to board games is absolutely welcome – there is usually someone around to teach how to play. \nWe’re looking for two Black LGBTQ+ facilitators to host and source board games for this session. This is a paid opportunity (£50).
