SUMMARY:Queer Walking Group: Richmond
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special excursion to Richmond under our monthly Queer Walking Group programme.\n\n\nEnd your January on a high and walk your winter blues away with our Queer Walking Group! We will be venturing to Richmond to take in the wonderful views along the Thames Path and the fantastic nature reserves\, and hopefully see some deer. This will be a beginner-friendly walking experience aiming to build confidence in the outdoors and in walking\, and provide members of the LGBTQ+ with the opportunity to connect with new friends and nature\, all while getting their steps in. \nConditions may be muddy\, so you will need suitable footwear to prevent injury\, as well as extra layers and a raincoat. Please also bring snacks and lunch with you although we will pass some cafes for the coffee and matcha lovers out there! \n \nSpaces are limited\, so early booking is advised. \n \nSchedule (please note that these estimated times): \n9:30am – Meet at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre \n10am – Coach pickup from the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre \n11am – Estimated arrival at Richmond (drop-off point Sheen Gate Lodge Fife Road London SW14 8BJ) \n11am-4pm – Walking activity (including breaks) \n4pm – Coach pickup from Richmond (pick-up point Church House 139 Petersham Road RICHMOND TW10 7AB) \n5pm – Estimated arrival at London LGBTQ+ Community Centre \n \nIf you have any concerns/questions on the day\, please refer to any of our staff members who will be wearing name and pronouns badges. \n \nAbout the facilitator: \nGavin is a transgender neurodivergent gay man who is passionate about the outdoors and its powerful impact on mental health and wellbeing. DESCRIPTION:By exploring yourself through breath you’ll learn the tools which are useful every day if you find yourself in a stressful situation.\n\n\nWe start of by shaking off our body’s to lose tension\, once we’ve done a quick shake we settle down in a sacred circle\, checking the way we breathe without controlling our breath. DESCRIPTION:An hour of yoga for LGBTQ+ people of all abilities\n\n\nJoin us for an hour of yoga at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre. \nYoga is held on an ad-hoc basis on Fridays and Saturdays from 11am – 12pm. DESCRIPTION:For all LGBTQ+ performers!\n\n\nCome\, take the mic and talk/sing/dance/perform in whichever way you see fit. All performances are welcome. \nWe want to cultivate a welcoming energy where we all feel comfortable to stand in front of people and just go for it! \nIf you want to just sit and relax or don’t know for sure whether you are up for performing with an audience\, you’re also welcome to come and take a look at what’s on.
