SUMMARY:LGBTQ+ Morning Yoga
DESCRIPTION:An hour of yoga for LGBTQ+ people of all abilities\n\n\nJoin us for an hour of yoga at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre. \nYoga is held on an ad-hoc basis on Fridays and Saturdays from 11am – 12pm. Please check Eventbrite for any changes and ensure you have registered before attending. Yoga mats are provided but please bring your own if you wish. \nSessions are charged on a pay-what-you-can basis. All payments go towards supporting the ongoing work of the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre. \n\nDiscover the meaning behind common yoga postures and their benefits\nBriefly explain foundational poses like downward-facing dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana)\, Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II) and lunges\nYoga philosophy – gain insights into ethical guidances and inner observances of yoga known as the Yamas and Niyamas\nExplore the concept of Chakras (energy centres in the body)\nQ&A: your opportunity to ask any questions you have about yoga\, its practices and philosophy!\n\nAbout the facilitators \nMorning yoga is run by a rotating group of LGBTQ+ volunteers\, all of whom are professionally qualified yoga instructors. \nAccessibility: \nThe Centre’s accessibility statement is here. \nCovid safety at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre: \nTo keep our community safe\, we ask that all visitors do not visit the centre if they are feeling symptoms including headache\, fever\, sore throat\, consistent cough or chills. \nMasks and hand sanitiser are available for use free of charge. DESCRIPTION:Image In is hosting a supportive\, affirming styling drop-in session for transgender and gender-diverse people.  \nThis event offers a calm\, judgement-free space to explore clothing\, experiment with presentation\, and build confidence with the support of a dedicated stylist. \nAttendees will spend time 1-2-1 with an Image In volunteer where they will be able to try on a range of clothing\, talk through what feels right for them\, and receive practical styling tips tailored to their body and goals. \nFavourite items can be taken home at no cost! DESCRIPTION:Thai Yoga Massage is conducted fully clothed on the floor on a futon mat. \nThania (they/them) uses compression and passive stretching in prone\, supine\, side-lying and seated positions. It is as wonderful as it sounds! DESCRIPTION:For all LGBTQ+ performers!\n\n\nCome\, take the mic and talk/sing/dance/perform in whichever way you see fit. All performances are welcome. \nWe want to cultivate a welcoming energy where we all feel comfortable to stand in front of people and just go for it! \nIf you want to just sit and relax or don’t know for sure whether you are up for performing with an audience\, you’re also welcome to come and take a look at what’s on. Maybe you find the inspiration to take the mic next time. \nInstruments aren’t available\, but you’re welcome to bring your own. \nTime will be limited to five minutes per appearance.
