SUMMARY:Queer Line Dance Club
DESCRIPTION:Expect a welcoming atmosphere where you'll learn a few dances before opening up the dance floor to everything from Dolly Parton to Doechii!\n\n\nQueer Line Dance Club is coming to the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre this Pride! \nExpect a welcoming atmosphere where we’ll teach you a few dances and then open up the dance floor to everything from Dolly Parton to Doechii\, Cascada to Chappell. \nLessons start from beginner\, progressively moving towards improvers. \nWe suggest wearing something you can move in and shoes with smooth-soles or low grip to help you along. \nIf you would like to know lesson plans ahead of the event\, have a preference of space to learn or anything else we can provide\, get in touch. \nThis event is funded by Southwark’s Pride 2026 fund. \nAbout the facilitator \nQueer Line Dance Club is the night for country lovers\, social dancers\, pop fanatics\, queers\, allies\, and everyone in between. \nThey host bimonthly nights at Walthamstow Trades Hall\, MOTH Club and Bonanza’s Boogaloo. \nAccessibility of the event \n\nLine dancing involves standing for the duration and completing dance steps such as weaving\, twisting\, turning and small jumps. We can offer adjustments of steps if given notice.\nWe usually break dances down in counts of 4 or 8\, practice these a few times\, then move on to the next 4 or 8 and add these to complete the dance.\nWe do run throughs of the completed dance and then add music\nWe request that dancers are quiet during the teaching portion and no drinks are on the dancefloor\nWe teach as one group\, and then when we add music. We sometimes split the room so there’s more space\nWe take comfort breaks in between lessons and while we always try to ensure all dancers grasp the steps\, anyone is welcome to take their own breaks\nIf you would like to know lesson plans ahead of the event\, have a preference of space to learn or anything else we can provide\, please send us a message.\n\nAccessibility at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre \nThe Centre’s accessibility statement is here. \nCovid safety at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre \nTo keep our community safe\, we ask that all visitors do not visit the centre if they are feeling any Covid-19 symptoms including a headache\, fever\, sore throat\, consistent cough or chills. \nYou can wear a mask if you feel more comfortable.
