DESCRIPTION:From green spaces and forests to scenic canals\, join us for a monthly Queer Walking Group across North\, South\, East and/or West London.\n\n\nJoin us on a series of engaging walks that will take you through the heart of the city and beyond\, exploring green spaces\, forests\, and more. \nThese walks offer a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant diversity of our community\, from the lush greenery of urban parks to the serene tranquillity of woodland trails. \nEach session promises to be an enriching experience\, as we journey together and celebrate the spirit of inclusivity and solidarity that defines the LGBTQ+ community in London. \nCome along and discover new perspectives\, make new connections\, and enjoy the simple pleasure of walking in good company. \nAll are welcome to join us as we explore the wonders of London’s landscapes and celebrate the diversity that makes our community thrive. \nWatch these beautiful vids from previous Queer Walking Groups: \n \n\nAugust 2024 (special walk to Beachy Head)\nSeptember 2024\n\nSunday 2 March \nHampstead Heath \nSunday 6 April \nRiver Lea – Stratford to Walthamstow \nSunday 4 May \nTower Hamlets Cemetary Park \nSunday 1 June \nManor Park to Forest Gate – Wanstead Flats \nSunday 6 July \nThe Parkland Line \nSunday 3 August \nWalthamstow Wetlands \nSunday 7 September \nNorthern Epping Forest – Please note\, the September walk will start at the earlier time of 11:00am \nSunday 5 October \nRegents Canal – East \nSunday 2 November \nSouthern Epping Forest \nSunday 7 December \nRichmond Park \nRoutes \nMeeting spot to be confirmed nearer the time via an Eventbrite email. Walk will set off a maximum of 10 minutes after the event start time. \nAbout the organisers \nMultiple community members will be leading different dates on the walk. SUMMARY:Bi The Way (Over 50s)
DESCRIPTION:A monthly 50+ social meetup for bisexual and pansexual folks at an intersectional\, intergenerational and safer LGBTQ+ haven.\n\n\nBi the Way is a dynamic monthly social group designed for bisexual and pansexual individuals to come together and connect. \nOur gatherings offer a warm and supportive environment where you can meet new friends\, share your experiences\, and celebrate your identity. The group gathers one Monday a month to host a variety of activities\, discussions\, and community events to foster a sense of belonging and fun. \nWhether you’re seeking meaningful conversations or just a good time with like-minded people\, Bi the Way is the perfect place for you. \nPlease note Bi the Way is taking place in May on Tuesday 13 at 6:30-8pm. \nAbout the facilitators: \nSophie (she/her) lives in north London with her partner\, in a flat filled with houseplants and books. Sophie has been working in policy and politics for almost ten years. Outside of work she enjoys gardening\, hiking\, going to the gym\, and cooking while singing along (off-key)to music from the 60s and 70s. \nMackenzie (she/her) lives in south London. She’s a graduate student working towards her PhD in Computer Science. Outside of her studies\, she loves to run\, swim\, walk neighborhood dogs\, cheer on Arsenal\, listen to podcasts\, read books\, and eat her way around the city. \nTiarna (she/her) lives in east London. She’s a PhD candidate working in biomedical engineering. She enjoys baking\, watching films\, listening to podcasts\, and supporting Watford FC (not always enjoyable watching!). \n \nAccessibility: \nThe Centre’s accessibility statement is here. \nCovid and mpox safety at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre: \nTo keep our community safe\, we ask that all visitors do not visit the Centre if they are feeling any Covid-19 and/or mpox symptoms including headache\, fever\, sore throat\, consistent cough\, chills and unusual spots\, scabs or ulcers. \nYou can wear a mask if you feel more comfortable.
