SUMMARY:Dope Black Queers: The Forum
DESCRIPTION:Dope Black Queers is a space for and by the Black LGBTQIA+ community\, to provide grounding\, connection\, and to feel seen and heard. \nThe Forum follows a Town Hall Meeting format\, less like a panel\, but more of an open floor discussion. \nThis is an event where we can really talk about the things that matter to us\, to raise questions and find answers both for ourselves and for others. \nOur specific life experiences give each of us different perspectives\, and that is what we want everyone to come and share\, because it is in the specifics that we can relate and build community. \nWhilst participation is encouraged\, no one has to share if they don’t want to. \nBut the more interaction\, the more there is to learn. \nCome meet new people\, build a community\, and share your perspective. This month’s topic will be looking at Black Femininity. Often policed\, regularly challenged\, sometimes assumed\, yet still divine and powerful. Join us as we explore our Black Femininity\, an energy so special it transforms the world! \nThis event is exclusively for the Black LGBTQIA+ community! (Allies are welcome to donate to help continue our work.) \nComplimentary cakes provided. Affordable teas and coffees are available for purchase on-site. \nCovid safety at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre: \nTo keep our community safe\, we ask that all visitors do not visit the centre if they are feeling any Covid symptoms including headache\, fever\, sore throat\, consistent cough and chills. \nYou can wear a mask if you feel more comfortable. We also have masks and hand sanitiser available at the Centre. \nFor current information on Covid please visit the NHS website. \nDonate to the Centre \nWe rely on donations to ensure that the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre can keep its doors open for years to come. \nTo donate or become a Friend of the Centre\, visit our website.
