SUMMARY:Queer Global Mixer: LGBTQ+ Storytelling Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join Queer Global for a free storytelling workshop celebrating the heritage of LGBTQ+ people of colour and migrants. \nStorytelling has always been a lifeline for queer communities to express\, and survive. But too often\, the voices at the intersection of those identities are pushed to the margins. \nIn this workshop\, we’ll centre those stories — yours. Whether you’re writing for the first time or picking it back up\, you’re invited into a creative and supportive space to explore your voice. \nYou might write a spoken word piece\, a short story\, a letter\, or a poem. You’ll have time to reflect\, write\, and share (only if you want to) with others in the room. All materials are provided — just bring yourself. \n\nWorkshop led by Ibukun Olumoroti\nOrganised by Queer Global\, this event creates space for participants with pride and power\nFree to attend\n No writing experience needed\nOpen to LGBTQ+ Global majority which includes people of colour\, migrants\, asylum seekers and refugees\n\nThis event is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund\, with thanks to National Lottery players. \nAccessibility \nThe Centre’s accessibility statement is here. \nCovid safety at the Centre \nTo keep our community safe\, we ask that all visitors do not visit the Centre if they are feeling any Covid-19 symptoms including headache\, fever\, sore throat\, consistent cough and chills. \nYou can wear a mask if you feel more comfortable. We also have masks and hand sanitiser available at the Centre. \nFor current information on Covid please visit the NHS website. \nDonate to the Centre \nWe rely on donations to ensure that the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre can keep its doors open for years to come. \nTo donate or become a Friend of the Centre\, visit our website.
