This progressive course offers a welcoming space to explore the beautiful rhythms and sensual movements of Kizomba\, reimagined through a queer and inclusive lens. \nEach week\, you will learn the fundamentals of this Angolan dance style and music genre\, from its signature steps to its cultural significance\, all while embracing creativity\, authentic self-expression\, and community. \nWhether you’re a beginner or a seasoned dancer\, this course is designed to build confidence and skill progressively. This course is open to all levels and everyone. DESCRIPTION:A theatre group for marginalised people.\n\n\nWe meet every second Sunday of the month to explore different methods of performance. We usually start with some warm up games before then either devising some short scenes\, reading some scripts\, play with moving our bodies or whatever other creative activities take our fancy! \nWe are an informal group aimed at having fun and creating community and space for everyone to feel safe and be free to explore their selves through drama and performance. \nThe workshops are run by Beckah from the London Intersectional Arts Collective. They are trans/genderqueer and disabled and their aim is to make these workshops accessible for all. \nWe welcome everybody regardless of orientation\, gender\, age\, race\, ethnicity – all we require is an open mind\, a desire to try\, respect for pronouns and a wish to perform! Doesn’t matter if you are a newbie or pro\, just wear some comfy clothes and come along. \nSessions are free but we ask that you leave a donation in the bucket at the centre if that is possible. \nIf a donation is prohibitive\, please do not let that put you off – art needs to be accessible for all of us. \nAbout the organiser: \nBeckah (they/them) is a theatre maker/facilitator and genderqueer person. DESCRIPTION:Why do we wear what we wear? Join our workshops to explore clothing and identity through dance\, DIY fashion-making and craft.\n\n\nWhy do we wear what we wear? What does it mean for our clothes to wear us? What does your favourite t-shirt\, jacket or dress say about you? \nJoin us in exploring the connection between clothing\, identity\, and gender through dance\, DIY fashion\, and crafts. These two workshops offer a creative space to reflect on how clothes impact our individual and collective identities. \nSessions will include check-ins\, dance activities\, mind-mapping\, DIY fashion-making\, and open conversations. Feel free to bring your own ideas\, talking points\, and pieces of clothing! \nIn  September\, the focus will lie on movement/dance\, while we will focus more on DIY Fashion making in October.  \nWhy Participate? \nThis is a unique opportunity to share your story\, explore your creativity\, learn new skills\, and contribute to a broader conversation about identity and clothing! \nThere is no prior experience needed. \nWho Is It For? \nThese workshops are specifically for LGBTQ+ community members over 50. DESCRIPTION:Intermission is a monthly meet-up for intersex folks and their allies hosted by intersex actor and advocate\, Ki Griffin.\n\n\nIntermission is a monthly meet-up for intersex folks and their allies hosted by intersex actor and advocate\, Ki Griffin. \nAimed to bring together the intersex community in London\, Intermission is a casual group lead session that will develop with the interests of the group. \nAbout the facilitator: \nKi is a multidisciplinary creative practitioner from London who identifies as a Black trans-masculine non-binary\, queer person with an intersex variation\, using he/him and they/them pronouns. \nPrimarily working as an actor\, he portrayed the first non-binary character in a British soap opera as his television debut\, they have continued to make groundbreaking steps in the industry playing only transgender\, non-binary and intersex characters in his career so far. \nOutside of their acting work\, they are an LGBTQIA+ advocate who has spoken at multiple panels and events including Trans+ Pride and WOW Festival as well as DJ performing across London and the North of England. \nAccessibility: \nThe meetup will take place via Zoom. DESCRIPTION:A peer support space to tackle the sometimes stressful work of name changes\, medical appointments\, passport applications and more admin.\n\n\nDo you have admin that you need to do around your transition? Would you like some support? Perhaps you want to legally change your name or your bank details? \nThese Trans Admin Group support sessions are a space where you can come to with any trans admin that you’re needing to do: \nSometimes we just need some encouragement from others\, or not to be alone with this. Other times we might have very specific questions or need support with an admin task. Or someone who signs our deed poll\, proof reads an email\, helps us to write a complaint. \nWhatever you are bringing to the sessions\, chances are that someone else has experience with this or tips for you. \nAbout the organiser: \nKai is a London based psychologist and dramatherapist\, and a doctoral researcher at the University of Sussex. He works therapeutically with individuals in private practice\, specialising in the treatment of trauma\, shame\, and stigma. \nKai is passionate about community building and works with groups and organisations to facilitate collective empowerment for survivors of sexual violence\, queer and trans people\, and other marginalised groups. DESCRIPTION:A series of free workshops for makers to come together\, connect and produce squares to go towards our Blankets for London project.\n\n\nThe Knit Club is open to anyone interested in approaching crafting and textile art for the first time and to any creative who wants an opportunity to make together and connect with other makers. \nThe workshops provide participants not only with a new skill\, but with an opportunity to bond with others. Workshops are structured in a welcoming\, non-hierarchical environment\, to nurture participants’ mental and physical health. Participants are encouraged to progress at their own pace\, ask for help when needed and can access the workshops regardless of skill level. \nThe Knit Club is an opportunity for intergenerational cohesion\, addressing the fostering of community and creating a supportive environment. We create an intergenerational space to establish long-term community relationships using the proven benefits of the crafts of knitting and crocheting. \nAbout the facilitator: \nCraft Forward is a Community Interest Company established in 2022\, dedicated to making arts and crafts accessible to everyone. DESCRIPTION:By exploring yourself through breath you’ll learn the tools which are useful every day if you find yourself in a stressful situation.\n\n\nWe start of by shaking off our body’s to lose tension\, once we’ve done a quick shake we settle down in a sacred circle\, checking the way we breathe without controlling our breath.
