DESCRIPTION:A peer support space to tackle the sometimes stressful work of name changes\, medical appointments\, passport applications and more admin.\n\n\nDo you have admin that you need to do around your transition? Would you like some support? Perhaps you want to legally change your name or your bank details? \nThese Trans Admin Group support sessions are a space where you can come to with any trans admin that you’re needing to do: \nSometimes we just need some encouragement from others\, or not to be alone with this. Other times we might have very specific questions or need support with an admin task. Or someone who signs our deed poll\, proof reads an email\, helps us to write a complaint. \nWhatever you are bringing to the sessions\, chances are that someone else has experience with this or tips for you. \nAbout the organiser \nKai is a London based psychologist and dramatherapist\, and a doctoral researcher at the University of Sussex. He works therapeutically with individuals in private practice\, specialising in the treatment of trauma\, shame\, and stigma. \nKai is passionate about community building and works with groups and organisations to facilitate collective empowerment for survivors of sexual violence\, queer and trans people\, and other marginalised groups. SUMMARY:The Self-Care Sanctuary: Part One
DESCRIPTION:Created to give you space\, and support\, to explore what wellbeing and empowering self-care look like for you.\n\n\nThe Self-Care Sanctuary is a relaxed and joyful two-part workshop. \nBook a ticket for part two. In order to join these workshops\, you will need to attend part one and part two. You only need to attend one workshop from part one and two – so select your preferred dates! \nThe Self-Care Sanctuary was created to give you space\, and support\, to explore what wellbeing and empowering self-care look like for you. We will draw on neuroscience and a range of wellbeing practices including meditation\, dance\, journalling\, nature work\, breathing\, drawing\, gentle movement\, and community. \nThese workshops are an LGBTQ+ space where stories\, wisdom\, and kindness are celebrated. Recognising that each of you will bring your own self-knowledge and curiosity to the topic of self-care and wellbeing. \nAfter the workshops you will have the techniques and resources to shape your own self-care toolkit. As well as the opportunity to make connections and learn from each from each other. \nPart one is taking place on Monday 16 June and Monday 7 July 2025 (so you can pick a date that works for you). Part two is happening from Sep-Dec 2025. \nAbout the facilitator \nSal (they/them) has been working in People Development for over 10 years with a focus on wellbeing\, inclusion\, and authenticity. Sal uses positive psychology and a facilitative approach to create spaces for people to explore what wellbeing and empowered self-care feels like for them. \nSal holds a MSc in People Development from Birkbeck\, University of London. They combine their decade of practical experience with research and working internationally to ensure the advice they give is robust and anchored in best practice. With a focus on curiosity and kindness Sal leads workshops in a supportive and joyful way. DESCRIPTION:Grab a pritt-stick and join the Queer Diary team for an evening of nostalgia\, crafting & chance to create your own personal Queer Teenage History Zine! \n\n\n\nDesign the teen mag you wish you’d read\nCollage your fantasy prom-night\nCreate a fanzine for your first crush\nWrite a letter to your younger self\nDraw a coming-of-age cartoon\n\nOr simply sit and doodle with a friendly queer crowd\, to a throwback soundtrack. \nBring your pals\, your date\, or come alone to meet some new friendly faces. \nAll crafting materials are provided by us:  \nPaper + pritt stick + scissors + felt-tips + gel pens + pencils + stencils  🖍 \n+ a load of old teen mags to cut up & re-cycle into your own queer-tastic zine ✂️✂️ \nWe also provide instruction (how to fold a basic zine) and zine-spiration in the form of some zines we’ve enjoyed\, and some we’ve made before\, along with a collaborative playlist\, where you can add your own fave throwback tracks from your teenage years. \nIf you wanna use your own life as inspiration\, we invite you to bring something you’ve kept from your past: a favourite object\, a picture\, a song\, or treasured memory* to use as inspiration on turning them into a Queer-tastic Zine (this is not required – just if you want to!) \n🎟 All tickets to this event are Pay What You Can – booking is essential and spaces are limited\, if you can no longer make it\, please let us know in advance so we can free up a place for somebody else. \nThis event is brought to you by the team behind Queer Diary (the night where LGBTQIA+ adults read their teenage diaries on stage). Teenage troubles\, angst & cringe are all part of life.  Please look after yourself & consider others if choosing to explore or share anything difficult or sensitive.  \nLocation and access: \n\nThe LGBTQ+ Community Centre is in Central London\, near the Tate Modern. The nearest stations are Blackfriars\, Waterloo\, London Bridge\, and Southwark tube.\nLGBTQ+ Community Centre has a quiet room with weighted blankets and sensory toys.\nLGBTQ+ Community Centre cafe serves non-alcoholic drinks only\, with Pay What You Can options available.\nThere is blue badge parking a few metres from the entrance.\nThe venue is step-free\, and entirely on the ground floor with a wide entrance and a lowered counter in the cafe. However\, the toilet is not wheelchair accessible. The Centre has an agreement with several nearby venues (less than 2 min away) that guests can use accessible toilets at Blackfriars Station\, Starbucks\, and the Founders Arms\, and staff can provide an escorting service for anyone using these.\nDogs are welcome.\nThe LGBTQ+ Community Centre is a shared community space. During our session there may be other visitors using the centre\, or other activities going on – you’ll find us by the Queer Diary signs & table of craft materials.\n\nFull information about access at the LGBTQ+ Community Centre is on their website\, and we recommend contacting the Centre directly if you have any specific questions about physical access to the building. \nCovid safety: \nEvent organisers are fully vaccinated and use lateral flow testing regularly. \nWe also welcome the wearing of masks. \nDo not attend this event if you have either Covid symptoms or a positive test result. \nInclusivity and community safety: \nPlease note this event is themed around memories of teenage years gone by\, and is aimed at adult audiences. \nThis is an-LGBTQIA+ centred space. SUMMARY:Peer Support for Navigating Eating Disorders and/or Body Dysmorphia
DESCRIPTION:Online peer support group for people of marginalised genders navigating eating disorders and/or body dysmorphia.\n\n\nOnline peer support group for people of marginalised genders navigating eating disorders and/or body dysmorphia. \nA peer-led support meeting intended to inclusively and safely provide space for people navigating eating disorders and/or body dysmorphia to explore thoughts\, feelings\, difficulties and healing. \nThe session will include a check-in/out\, a relaxation/grounding exercise and facilitated open space to talk with others who can relate\, listen\, and support one another. \nNo formal diagnosis needed and all bodies are welcome. The group is is intended to operate from an intersectional perspective that includes interrogation of anti-fat bias/fatphobia\, makes space for discussion often excluded in clinical/psychiatric settings including impacts of societal systems on our experiences. \nThere will be a short break of up to 10 minutes during the session. \nDisclaimer: \nThis is a peer-led support group and not formal/psychological therapy. Whilst we will work together to not share explicitly triggering content\, you may find some of what is spoken about difficult\, and it is important that you have coping strategies in place. \nWe will always check out at the end of the session\, and further signposting/resources can be shared. \nHowever\, the workshop’s facilitator is unable to provide any other support outside of this space. \nPlease be aware that when joining the session you will be expected to honour these specific group boundaries: \nConfidentiality – don’t share what others have said outside of the group \nNo numbers – we don’t refer to numbers such as calories/weight/BMI etc within the group as it can be triggering \nNo negative use of the word “fat” – we do not engage with fatphobic language \nIf you have any questions or concerns please get in touch. A feedback form will be provided at the end of each session so that the meetings can develop in ways that serve the community. \nAbout the facilitator: \nAisha Kacie/AK (they/them) is a disabled QTBIPoC practitioner in the field of Community Work\, The Arts\, Holistic Practices & Mutual Aid. They are currently studying Health and Social Sciences and have an ongoing Movement & Live Performance portfolio. With several years of personal recovery\, AK has a passionate interest in working therapeutically in the community and the lived experience to inform this pursuit. The nearest stations are Blackfriars\, Waterloo\, London Bridge\, and Southwark tube.\nLGBTQ+ Community Centre has a quiet room with weighted blankets and sensory toys.\nLGBTQ+ Community Centre cafe serves non-alcoholic drinks only\, with Pay What You Can options available.\nThere is blue badge parking a few metres from the entrance.\nThe venue is step-free\, and entirely on the ground floor with a wide entrance and a lowered counter in the cafe. However\, the toilet is not wheelchair accessible. The Centre has an agreement with several nearby venues (less than 2 min away) that guests can use accessible toilets at Blackfriars Station\, Starbucks\, and the Founders Arms\, and staff can provide an escorting service for anyone using these.\nDogs are welcome.\nThe LGBTQ+ Community Centre is a shared community space. During our session there may be other visitors using the centre\, or other activities going on – you’ll find us by the Queer Diary signs & table of craft materials.\n\nFull information about access at the LGBTQ+ Community Centre is on their website\, and we recommend contacting the Centre directly if you have any specific questions about physical access to the building. \nCovid safety: \nEvent organisers are fully vaccinated and use lateral flow testing regularly. \nWe also welcome the wearing of masks. \nDo not attend this event if you have either Covid symptoms or a positive test result. \nInclusivity and community safety: \nPlease note this event is themed around memories of teenage years gone by\, and is aimed at adult audiences. \nThis is an-LGBTQIA+ centred space. DESCRIPTION:Meet other unpaid carers and chat in a relaxed and informal setting.\n\n\nThis group is chance to meet other unpaid LGBTQ+ carers\, and chat in a relaxed and informal setting. \nMeetings are on the second Saturday of each month from 3-5pm. \nWhat you can expect: \nThese meetups involve group socialising for two hours\, but you are welcome to take a break whenever needed. We will usually be sitting on chairs around a table\, but can sometimes be a little loud if there are other groups there. \nWe will usually be sitting on chairs around a table\, but can move to the sofa area if it’s free and it suits our access needs better. \nIf there are a lot of us\, we might split into two smaller groups to chat. Unfortunately the group can’t provide a BSL interpreter. \nThis is not a masked event\, but wearing a respirator mask is recommended as it will protect both us and the people we care for. DESCRIPTION:This guided meditation group creates a unique space for LGBTQ+ people to foster friendship and practice meditation.\n\n\nThe sessions will feature a variety of mindfulness\, loving-kindness and wisdom meditations. There’ll also be sharing and connecting\, poetry and more. Through this\, we’ll cultivate a warm awareness of our own experience and go beyond the individual to explore how we can grow and flourish as a community. There’ll also be the option to socialise in the cafe area after. \nNo prior meditation experience required. Also suitable for those who are trying to establish a regular practice within a supportive environment. \nSessions are free\, with an optional donation towards establishing a permanent LGBTQ+ community centre. DESCRIPTION:A monthly 50+ social meetup for bisexual and pansexual folks at an intersectional\, intergenerational and safer LGBTQ+ haven.\n\n\nBi the Way is a dynamic monthly social group designed for bisexual and pansexual individuals to come together and connect. \nOur gatherings offer a warm and supportive environment where you can meet new friends\, share your experiences\, and celebrate your identity. The group gathers one Monday a month to host a variety of activities\, discussions\, and community events to foster a sense of belonging and fun. \nWhether you’re seeking meaningful conversations or just a good time with like-minded people\, Bi the Way is the perfect place for you. \nPlease note Bi the Way is taking place in May on Tuesday 13 at 6:30-8pm. \nAbout the facilitators: \nSophie (she/her) lives in north London with her partner\, in a flat filled with houseplants and books. Sophie has been working in policy and politics for almost ten years. Outside of work she enjoys gardening\, hiking\, going to the gym\, and cooking while singing along (off-key)to music from the 60s and 70s. \nMackenzie (she/her) lives in south London. She’s a graduate student working towards her PhD in Computer Science. Outside of her studies\, she loves to run\, swim\, walk neighborhood dogs\, cheer on Arsenal\, listen to podcasts\, read books\, and eat her way around the city. \nTiarna (she/her) lives in east London. She’s a PhD candidate working in biomedical engineering.
