SUMMARY:Queer Along the River: South London LGBTQ+ History and Drawing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join Dr Catherine Hahn in a history and drawing workshop on queer South London.\n\n\nJoin Dr Catherine Hahn in a history and drawing workshop on queer South London. \nYou will learn about LGBTQ+ South London history starting in the 17th century\, then use a variety of drawing methods and experiments to recall queer pasts. \nAbout this event \nThe workshop reclaims diverse\, working-class LGBTQ+ South East London history through local stories and drawing. In doing so\, it challenges Victorian accounts of poverty and crime that served as cultural erasure in the area. \n In the workshop\, we will explore how drawing methods can revive queer history. Art produced in Queer Along the River will be shown in Deptford Lounge for LGBTQ+ History month in February 2026. \nTogether\, we will put South London’s LGBTQ+ heritage on the map! \nAny level of art experience\, including none\, is welcome. \nHistoric resources\, art material and support will be provided. \nAbout the facilitator \nDr Catherine Hahn (she/her) is an artist and social researcher and has taught extensively in Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths and Art History at the University of Kent. Catherine has facilitated collaborative art workshops for many years. \nShe draws on her personal experience and research on queer South London for the tour. \nAccessibility \nThe Centre’s accessibility statement is here. \nCovid-19 safety at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre \nTo keep our community safe\, we ask that all visitors do not visit the Centre if they are feeling any Covid-19 symptoms including headache\, fever\, sore throat\, consistent cough\, and chills. \nFor current information on Covid please visit the NHS website. \nDonate to the Centre \nWe rely on donations to ensure that the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre can keep its doors open for years to come. \nTo donate or become a Friend of the Centre\, visit our website.

SUMMARY:Queer Minds Movement Sessions: Yoga for Beginners
DESCRIPTION:Starting in December and continuing into 2026\, Queer Minds will be hosting monthly movement sessions on the 3rd Monday of every month from 6-8pm!  \nWe’re excited to be collaborating with Anton Reuben Young for our first three sessions – Yoga for Beginners. \nThese sessions are open to everyone regardless of your level of experience with yoga\, though it will be led at a gentle pace and suitable for those who have never tried yoga before. \nYou are welcome to sign up to one\, two\, or all three sessions: \n\n15 December 2025\n19 January 2026\n16 February 2026\n\nYoga mats and other props will be provided! Just arrive on time wearing comfortable clothing suitable for movement. \nThere is a space for you to share accessibility needs when registering. \nAbout the facilitator \nAnton is a London-based yoga teacher who has been guiding students since completing his teacher training in 2017. His approach to yoga is rooted in curiosity\, creativity\, and compassion—always encouraging students to explore movement in a way that feels authentic and empowering to their individual bodies. \nWith a deep appreciation for both the strength and subtlety of the human form\, Anton weaves anatomy-informed sequencing with playful exploration. His classes are grounded in functional movement and strength-building\, often themed around specific muscle groups or intriguing ways of moving. You’ll find a healthy dose of humour and lightness in his teaching style—he believes yoga can be both profound and playful\, challenging and deeply human. \nWhether you’re wobbling\, wiggling\, or meeting your edge\, Anton creates a space where students can learn\, laugh\, and connect with themselves on and off the mat. \nAbout Queer Minds \nQueer Minds is a peer support group for LGBTQIA+ people (aged 18+) who live\, work or play in Lambeth and Southwark. This group is by us\, for us and is for those who are looking to connect with others and get support for their mental health. We currently run two monthly peer support groups\, a trans drop-in group\, and various workshops and activities with partner organisations. SUMMARY:Covid-Safe Social
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a relaxed social full of bonding\, discussion\, and chitter-chatter!\n\n\nThis is our January monthly social! We require (and provide) Covid tests\, FFP2/3 masks\, and HEPA air purifiers. \nThis event includes socialising\, arts and crafts\, games\, and more. \nGovernments have decided to abandon infection control and endanger those around them\, putting already-marginalised communities at risk of Long Covid and social isolation. \nWe want to create spaces for people to socialise\, find community\, and have fun without putting themselves or others at risk of damage to their immune\, cardiovascular\, or nervous systems. \nFFP2/3 masks and proof of a negative test are required on the door (and provided)\, and HEPA air purifiers will be running at all times. \nWe are specifically welcoming: \n\nDisabled people (4x higher COVID mortality rate)\nPeople of colour (32% long COVID rate)\nWomen (36% long COVID rate)\nTrans people (48% long COVID rate)\nNeurodivergent people (30% long COVID rate)\nPeople with HIV (58% long COVID rate)\n\nor anyone else at increased risk (or those who don’t want to spread such a disease to the greater London community). \nCheck out a Reel of a previous event at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre. \nWe provide conversation facilitation and introductions\, so everyone feels comfortable and welcome. This is a seated event\, and there is a quiet room. BSL interpreters are available upon request to breatheeasyldn@gmail.com. Please also contact us or the Centre for any other access needs. \nJanuary 2026 social \nThis month\, we will also have a special table set up for vision board making and/or 2026 bingo card making\, if you feel like getting creative! Materials will be provided\, but feel free to bring your own magazines/pens/paper/glue/scissors to add to the table if you have any. Participation is completely optional. \nIf you would like to take part in the activity and aren’t able to bring any materials\, if within your budget\, we ask that you bring a £4 donation on the day to help us cover the cost of materials (or you can donate online via our GoFundMe). If you’re bringing your own materials\, either to use just yourself or to share with the group\, then no donation is needed (unless you’re feeling generous!) :). \nPhoto in slider taken by Breathe Easy London from a previous Covid-Safe Social at the Centre. \nCovid safety at the event \nAttendees will be greeted and asked to provide proof of a negative COVID test in the last 24 hours. \nIf attendees don’t have the opportunity to take one beforehand\, they will be provided and asked to take them outside. \nAfter confirming negative tests\, attendees will be provided an FFP2 mask (if they do not have their own) and invited to socialise with other attendees at various activity tables (board games\, arts and crafts\, conversation prompts\, etc). \nAttendees are welcome to ask organisers for an introduction to any table to break the ice. \nAfter 20-30 minutes\, we will invite guests to switch to a different activity or take a break if they wish\, though this will not be required. \nStanding will not be required for any portion of this event. \nFor everyone’s safety\, please do not attend the event if you are unwell or have any unusual symptoms\, especially signs or symptoms of respiratory illness such as a sore throat\, cough\, runny nose\, fever\, etc. We can provide a refund at any time in the lead up to the event. \nIf you have any access needs (e.g. BSL interpreter\, lip reading masks\, etc)\, please email hello@londonlgbtqcentre.org. \nAbout the organisers \nBreathe Easy London is a group of immunocompromised/Covid-conscious Londoners organising monthly events for members of our community to safely socialise. \nOrganisers include Greta Mauch (she/her)\, Anni Movsisyan (she/they)\, Georgia Newman (she/her)\, Daniel Wagner-Hall (he/they)\, and three other London-based volunteers. \nVisit their website or Instagram to find out more\, and support their GoFundMe to help make more events happen! \nAccessibility \nOur full accessibility statement is here. \nDonate to the Centre \nWe rely on donations to ensure that the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre can keep its doors open for years to come. \nTo donate or become a Friend of the Centre\, visit our website.

DESCRIPTION:A space for LGBTQ+ freelancers\, students and work-from-homers\n\n\nJoin us for coffee\, a desk and queer business! \nEvery Wednesday the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre opens its space for freelancers\, students and anyone that work remotely. \nAt 1pm we’ll have a social lunch hour so we can have an arranged time to break for lunch and have a chat. It’ll just be an hour with slightly more chatting and background noise\, no pressure at all. On sunny days we’ll eat outside. \nThis coworking space is run in partnership with Business Queers\, a network of freelancers and small business operators.
