SUMMARY:Kings for Life (Drawing) Class
DESCRIPTION:A Drag King/Thing Life Drawing Workshop for artists to experience drag in a new way and drag artists to gain a new skill in life modelling.\n\n\nJoin us for an exciting life drawing workshop dedicated to providing a platform for Drag Kings/Things to model and offering artists a unique experience in capturing the essence of drag through art. \nOur inclusive sessions cater to all skill levels\, whether you’re a novice or a seasoned artist like the next David Hockney! Each pose is timed\, and we may suggest different drawing techniques to inspire and warm up your artistic flow. \nWhat You’ll Need: \n\nDrawing Surface: Get creative—paper\, an iPad\, or cardboard boxes!\nDrawing Materials: Anything goes—pencils\, charcoal\, pastels\, or paints. It’s a perfect opportunity to experiment and try something new!\n\nPose breakdown will be 4 x 5 minutes\, 2 x 10 minutes\, 3 x 15 minutes\, and 1 x 20 minutes (as time allows). \nCome along\, settle in and drawing starts just after 3.30pm. \nPlease bring your own materials (Although we generally have a few pads and pencils on hand in case!). All skill levels\, genders and orientations are welcome. \nImportant: Recording of the session is not permitted. \nAs with all our sessions\, Nudity is not part of this workshop. It is up to the model’s comfort level when posing how much or little clothing they will wear and being mindful of other patrons in the space\, as it will not be private. \nOur main priority is to create a safe environment for the talent. \nThat said\, sometimes sessions do veer towards the erotic/kink based on the model. SUMMARY:The Self-Care Sanctuary: Part One
DESCRIPTION:Created to give you space\, and support\, to explore what wellbeing and empowering self-care look like for you.\n\n\nThe Self-Care Sanctuary is a relaxed and joyful two-part workshop. \nBook a ticket for part two. In order to join these workshops\, you will need to attend part one and part two. You only need to attend one workshop from part one and two – so select your preferred dates! \nThe Self-Care Sanctuary was created to give you space\, and support\, to explore what wellbeing and empowering self-care look like for you. We will draw on neuroscience and a range of wellbeing practices including meditation\, dance\, journalling\, nature work\, breathing\, drawing\, gentle movement\, and community. \nThese workshops are an LGBTQ+ space where stories\, wisdom\, and kindness are celebrated. Recognising that each of you will bring your own self-knowledge and curiosity to the topic of self-care and wellbeing. \nAfter the workshops you will have the techniques and resources to shape your own self-care toolkit. As well as the opportunity to make connections and learn from each from each other. \nPart one is taking place on Monday 16 June and Monday 7 July 2025 (so you can pick a date that works for you). Part two is happening from Sep-Dec 2025. \nAbout the facilitator \nSal (they/them) has been working in People Development for over 10 years with a focus on wellbeing\, inclusion\, and authenticity. Sal uses positive psychology and a facilitative approach to create spaces for people to explore what wellbeing and empowered self-care feels like for them. \nSal holds a MSc in People Development from Birkbeck\, University of London. They combine their decade of practical experience with research and working internationally to ensure the advice they give is robust and anchored in best practice. With a focus on curiosity and kindness Sal leads workshops in a supportive and joyful way. DESCRIPTION:A weekly strength & conditioning class suitable for all levels.\n\n\nA full body workout including mat work\, weights and body weight exercises. Boot camp / circuit style exercises. \nSuitable for all levels. \nClass will comprise of strength\, conditioning and mobility exercises. This will be done with and without weights\, there will be options to do seated. \nThis is a one hour fitness class. DESCRIPTION:A space for LGBTQ+ freelancers\, students and work-from-homers\n\n\nJoin us for coffee\, a desk and queer business! \nEvery Wednesday the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre opens its space for freelancers\, students and anyone that work remotely. \nAt 1pm we’ll have a social lunch hour so we can have an arranged time to break for lunch and have a chat. DESCRIPTION:Grab a pritt-stick and join the Queer Diary team for an evening of nostalgia\, crafting & chance to create your own personal Queer Teenage History Zine! \n\n\n\nDesign the teen mag you wish you’d read\nCollage your fantasy prom-night\nCreate a fanzine for your first crush\nWrite a letter to your younger self\nDraw a coming-of-age cartoon\n\nOr simply sit and doodle with a friendly queer crowd\, to a throwback soundtrack. \nBring your pals\, your date\, or come alone to meet some new friendly faces. \nAll crafting materials are provided by us:  \nPaper + pritt stick + scissors + felt-tips + gel pens + pencils + stencils  🖍 \n+ a load of old teen mags to cut up & re-cycle into your own queer-tastic zine ✂️✂️ \nWe also provide instruction (how to fold a basic zine) and zine-spiration in the form of some zines we’ve enjoyed\, and some we’ve made before\, along with a collaborative playlist\, where you can add your own fave throwback tracks from your teenage years. \nIf you wanna use your own life as inspiration\, we invite you to bring something you’ve kept from your past: a favourite object\, a picture\, a song\, or treasured memory* to use as inspiration on turning them into a Queer-tastic Zine (this is not required – just if you want to!) \n🎟 All tickets to this event are Pay What You Can – booking is essential and spaces are limited\, if you can no longer make it\, please let us know in advance so we can free up a place for somebody else. \nThis event is brought to you by the team behind Queer Diary (the night where LGBTQIA+ adults read their teenage diaries on stage). However\, the toilet is not wheelchair accessible. Improv is all about collaboration and saying yes to people’s ideas. Follow your spontaneity\, trust your gut and you’ll be surprised at what worlds you can create. \nImprov is not just about being funny; improv is an amazing way to help people dealing with social anxiety or for people that want some practice feeling a little more free in their public speaking. \nThis is a low-stakes workshop where we can share some laughs and maybe even make some new friends. Through games and exercises we’ll create stories\, characters and learn the fundamentals of improvisation. \nNote: Please ensure that you arrive on time for this workshop. DESCRIPTION:A monthly 50+ social meetup for bisexual and pansexual folks at an intersectional\, intergenerational and safer LGBTQ+ haven.\n\n\nBi the Way is a dynamic monthly social group designed for bisexual and pansexual individuals to come together and connect. \nOur gatherings offer a warm and supportive environment where you can meet new friends\, share your experiences\, and celebrate your identity. The group gathers one Monday a month to host a variety of activities\, discussions\, and community events to foster a sense of belonging and fun. \nWhether you’re seeking meaningful conversations or just a good time with like-minded people\, Bi the Way is the perfect place for you. \nPlease note Bi the Way is taking place in May on Tuesday 13 at 6:30-8pm. \nAbout the facilitators: \nSophie (she/her) lives in north London with her partner\, in a flat filled with houseplants and books. Sophie has been working in policy and politics for almost ten years. Outside of work she enjoys gardening\, hiking\, going to the gym\, and cooking while singing along (off-key)to music from the 60s and 70s. \nMackenzie (she/her) lives in south London. She’s a graduate student working towards her PhD in Computer Science. Outside of her studies\, she loves to run\, swim\, walk neighborhood dogs\, cheer on Arsenal\, listen to podcasts\, read books\, and eat her way around the city. \nTiarna (she/her) lives in east London. She’s a PhD candidate working in biomedical engineering. DESCRIPTION:A weekly strength & conditioning class suitable for all levels.\n\n\nA full body workout including mat work\, weights and body weight exercises. Boot camp / circuit style exercises. \nSuitable for all levels. \nClass will comprise of strength\, conditioning and mobility exercises. This will be done with and without weights\, there will be options to do seated. \nThis is a one hour fitness class. For your safety you must arrive on time to take part in warm up and initial instruction\, anyone arriving late may not be able to participate. There is no requirement however to take part in whole class and participants are encouraged to make choices for what they want to do and variations and adaptions are always available. \nAbout the facilitator \nLianne is a LGBTQ+ focused strength & conditioning coach and community facilitator. She runs classes\, coaching groups and 1-1 personal training sessions around South London She also brings 10 years of experience as trauma informed holistic worker & group facilitator so you’re in safe strong hands! DESCRIPTION:A space for LGBTQ+ freelancers\, students and work-from-homers\n\n\nJoin us for coffee\, a desk and queer business! \nEvery Wednesday the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre opens its space for freelancers\, students and anyone that work remotely. \nAt 1pm we’ll have a social lunch hour so we can have an arranged time to break for lunch and have a chat. It can be tricky to fit in a proper lunch break and we are hoping this will help. \nIf you don’t want to join\, that’s okay! It’ll just be an hour with slightly more chatting and background noise\, no pressure at all.
