SUMMARY:LGBTQ+ Community Meditation
DESCRIPTION:This guided meditation group creates a unique space for LGBTQ+ people to foster friendship and practice meditation.\n\n\nThe sessions will feature a variety of mindfulness\, loving-kindness and wisdom meditations. There’ll also be sharing and connecting\, poetry and more. Through this\, we’ll cultivate a warm awareness of our own experience and go beyond the individual to explore how we can grow and flourish as a community. There’ll also be the option to socialise in the cafe area after. \nNo prior meditation experience required. Also suitable for those who are trying to establish a regular practice within a supportive environment. \nSessions are free\, with an optional donation towards establishing a permanent LGBTQ+ community centre. DESCRIPTION:A Drag King/Thing Life Drawing Workshop for artists to experience drag in a new way and drag artists to gain a new skill in life modelling.\n\n\nJoin us for an exciting life drawing workshop dedicated to providing a platform for Drag Kings/Things to model and offering artists a unique experience in capturing the essence of drag through art. \nOur inclusive sessions cater to all skill levels\, whether you’re a novice or a seasoned artist like the next David Hockney! Each pose is timed\, and we may suggest different drawing techniques to inspire and warm up your artistic flow. \nWhat You’ll Need: \n\nDrawing Surface: Get creative—paper\, an iPad\, or cardboard boxes!\nDrawing Materials: Anything goes—pencils\, charcoal\, pastels\, or paints. It’s a perfect opportunity to experiment and try something new!\n\nPose breakdown will be 4 x 5 minutes\, 2 x 10 minutes\, 3 x 15 minutes\, and 1 x 20 minutes (as time allows). \nCome along\, settle in and drawing starts just after 3.30pm. \nPlease bring your own materials (Although we generally have a few pads and pencils on hand in case!). All skill levels\, genders and orientations are welcome. \nImportant: Recording of the session is not permitted. \nAs with all our sessions\, Nudity is not part of this workshop. It is up to the model’s comfort level when posing how much or little clothing they will wear and being mindful of other patrons in the space\, as it will not be private. \nOur main priority is to create a safe environment for the talent. \nThat said\, sometimes sessions do veer towards the erotic/kink based on the model. DESCRIPTION:A peer support space to tackle the sometimes stressful work of name changes\, medical appointments\, passport applications and more admin.\n\n\nDo you have admin that you need to do around your transition? Would you like some support? Perhaps you want to legally change your name or your bank details? \nThese Trans Admin Group support sessions are a space where you can come to with any trans admin that you’re needing to do: \nSometimes we just need some encouragement from others\, or not to be alone with this. Other times we might have very specific questions or need support with an admin task. DESCRIPTION:A space for LGBTQ+ freelancers\, students and work-from-homers\n\n\nJoin us for coffee\, a desk and queer business! \nEvery Wednesday the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre opens its space for freelancers\, students and anyone that work remotely. \nAt 1pm we’ll have a social lunch hour so we can have an arranged time to break for lunch and have a chat. It can be tricky to fit in a proper lunch break and we are hoping this will help. \nIf you don’t want to join\, that’s okay! It’ll just be an hour with slightly more chatting and background noise\, no pressure at all. DESCRIPTION:A drop-in workshop for LGBTQ+ people. No experience necessary!\n\n\nA drop-in workshop for LGBTQ+ people of any experience level. Improv is all about collaboration and saying yes to people’s ideas. Follow your spontaneity\, trust your gut and you’ll be surprised at what worlds you can create. \nImprov is not just about being funny; improv is an amazing way to help people dealing with social anxiety or for people that want some practice feeling a little more free in their public speaking. \nThis is a low-stakes workshop where we can share some laughs and maybe even make some new friends. Through games and exercises we’ll create stories\, characters and learn the fundamentals of improvisation. \nNote: Please ensure that you arrive on time for this workshop. DESCRIPTION:A monthly 50+ social meetup for bisexual and pansexual folks at an intersectional\, intergenerational and safer LGBTQ+ haven.\n\n\nBi the Way is a dynamic monthly social group designed for bisexual and pansexual individuals to come together and connect. \nOur gatherings offer a warm and supportive environment where you can meet new friends\, share your experiences\, and celebrate your identity. The group gathers one Monday a month to host a variety of activities\, discussions\, and community events to foster a sense of belonging and fun. \nWhether you’re seeking meaningful conversations or just a good time with like-minded people\, Bi the Way is the perfect place for you. \nPlease note Bi the Way is taking place in May on Tuesday 13 at 6:30-8pm. \nAbout the facilitators: \nSophie (she/her) lives in north London with her partner\, in a flat filled with houseplants and books. Sophie has been working in policy and politics for almost ten years. Outside of work she enjoys gardening\, hiking\, going to the gym\, and cooking while singing along (off-key)to music from the 60s and 70s. \nMackenzie (she/her) lives in south London. She’s a graduate student working towards her PhD in Computer Science. Outside of her studies\, she loves to run\, swim\, walk neighborhood dogs\, cheer on Arsenal\, listen to podcasts\, read books\, and eat her way around the city. \nTiarna (she/her) lives in east London. She’s a PhD candidate working in biomedical engineering. DESCRIPTION:A weekly strength and conditioning class suitable for all levels.\n\n\nA full body workout including mat work and body weight exercises. \nThis class is designed to support balance\, strength and coordination with a range of steady controlled movements. \nThis class would benefit anyone starting out with strength and conditioning\, those wanting to improve performance or folks ccoming back to fitness and training. \nThis class will complement other training such as sports\, marathons or strength programmes as well as day-to-day living to help you build strong foundations for better mobility\, strength and conditioning. \nAbout the facilitator \nLianne is an LGBTQ+ focused strength and conditioning coach and community facilitator. She runs classes\, coaching groups and 1-1 personal training sessions around South London. It’ll just be an hour with slightly more chatting and background noise\, no pressure at all. Eunice provides an environment which is kink\, sexuality\, and consensual non-monogamy/polyamory positive\, and LGBTQIA+ friendly. \nShe’s committed to creating a space that’s welcoming to anyone from a marginalised identity\, especially those who are racially or culturally minoritised. \nEunice uses a combination of therapeutic strategies and specialises in working with people exploring Gender\, Sex(uality)\, and Relationship Diversity (GSRD) issues in a trauma-informed\, racially-aware context.
