SUMMARY:LGBTQ+ Community Meditation
DESCRIPTION:This guided meditation group creates a unique space for LGBTQ+ people to foster friendship and practice meditation.\n\n\nThe sessions will feature a variety of mindfulness\, loving-kindness and wisdom meditations. There’ll also be sharing and connecting\, poetry and more. Through this\, we’ll cultivate a warm awareness of our own experience and go beyond the individual to explore how we can grow and flourish as a community. There’ll also be the option to socialise in the cafe area after. \nNo prior meditation experience required. Also suitable for those who are trying to establish a regular practice within a supportive environment. \nSessions are free\, with an optional donation towards establishing a permanent LGBTQ+ community centre. DESCRIPTION:A relaxed social event to meet and chat with people who identify under the trans and gender non-conforming umbrella.\n\n\nCome down to the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre for this monthly Trans Social! \nWhether you’re a trans person new to London\, newly out\, or looking for more connections\, this social is for everyone! \nWe will play some games\, chat\, chill\, and hopefully make some crafts with new friends. \nThe event will be neurodivergent friendly with a smaller quiet space available for those who need it. \nAbout the organisers \nLori is a London-based writer and theatremaker\, and a doctoral researcher at the University of London and Columbia University. \nHer work is centred on communal movement practices\, embodiment\, and autonomy. \nIn addition to her scholarly and artistic work\, Lori is an organiser and advocate with London Trans+ Pride with a focus on route planning and accessibility. \nGavin (he/him) is a queer trans man who has lived in London for 11 years. \nHe works in the education sector by day\, but outside of work\, he’s passionate about the outdoors\, making queer connections\, and playing rugby and netball with queer teams in London. DESCRIPTION:Come and explore the foundations of hip-hop dance\, its grooves and techniques\, at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre!\n\n\nJoin dance artist Sukan at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre for a taster class exploring the foundations of hip-hop dance\, its grooves and techniques!  \nJoin us if you’re down for a boogie! No prior dance experience needed. Please wear comfortable clothing to move in. \nClass agenda \n\nWarm-up\n Hip-hop dance Eeements – Rock and Bounce\nHip-Hop foundation steps – Shamrock\, ALF and Smurf (adjustable depending on participants)\nFreestyle exercise – nine pointer\,  footwork and Isolation \nCypher (if folks are comfortable enough doing!)\nCool down\n\nFolks will be encouraged throughout the class to take water breaks and adjust or stop if necessary. \nAbout the facilitator \nSukan is a transmac dance artist based in London.
