SUMMARY:Covid-Safe Speed Dating and Mating with Breathe Easy London
DESCRIPTION:Join other Covid-safe cuties this Pride for an evening of speed dating and mating! \n\n\n\n\n\nYou asked\, and we listened! Breathe Easy London is hosting a Covid-safe speed dating + mating event for London Pride! \nWith such a strong need to connect Covid-safe people in London\, our community members asked us to host speed dating (and mating) events to help them get to know one another. This Pride\, we’re hosting our first! \nAnyone of any gender or sexuality is welcome to come and participate. You can either come to speed date with everyone\, speed date with just a few people to your fancy (and “mate” the rest)\, or just do the speed mating to make new friends! \nTables will be set up to give everyone 5 minutes to get to know one another before moving on to the next\, followed by some time to socialise as a group. \nThe Breathe Easy London team will be there to break the ice\, smooth conversations\, make connections\, and make a welcoming environment for all. \nWe are specifically welcoming: \n\nDisabled people (4x higher Covid mortality rate)\nPeople of colour (32% Long Covid rate)\nWomen (36% Long Covid rate)\nTrans people (48% Long Covid rate)\nNeurodivergent people (30% Long Covid rate)\nPeople with HIV (58% Long Covid rate)\n\nor anyone else at increased risk (or those who don’t want to spread such a disease to the greater London community). \nGovernments and the public have decided to abandon infection control and endanger those around them\, putting already-marginalised communities at risk of Long Covid social isolation\, and death. \nWe want to create spaces for people to socialise\, find community\, and have fun without putting themselves or others at risk of damage to their immune\, cardiovascular\, or nervous systems. \nPricing\nThis event is pay-what-you-can\, with various ticket options available so that you can choose the best option for you (free options included). \nWe strongly recommend a £10 donation for this additional event we’re hosting over the summer. \nThe costs of putting on an event are currently more than ticket sales cover (we’ve made an average loss of £28 for each event so far)\, so all donations are welcome to help Breathe Easy London become more self-sustaining! \nNo profit is being made as 100% of donations will go towards putting on more Covid-safe events in London. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. You can find a full breakdown of our running costs at www.instagram.com/breatheeasyldn. \n\nCovid safety at the event\nAttendees will be greeted and asked to provide photo proof of a negative Covid test in the last 24 hours. \nIf attendees don’t have the opportunity to take one beforehand\, they will be provided and asked to take them away from the group. \nAfter confirming negative tests\, attendees will be provided an FFP2/3 mask (if they do not have their own) and invited to socialise with other attendees before the speed dating + mating egins. \nFor everyone’s safety\, please do not attend the event if you are unwell or have any unusual symptoms\, especially signs or symptoms of respiratory illness such as a sore throat\, runny nose\, fever\, etc. We can provide a refund on your donation at any time in the lead up to the event if you contact breatheeasyldn@gmail.com. \nAttendees are welcome to ask organisers for an introduction to anyone to break the ice. \nStanding will not be required for any portion of this event. \nIf you have any additional access needs (e.g. BSL interpreter\, lip reading masks\, etc.)\, have a medical mask exemption\, have a medical requirement to wear a valved mask\, or have any other questions about the event\, please email breatheeasyldn@gmail.com.
