SUMMARY:LGBTQ+ Unpaid Carers Peer Support Group
DESCRIPTION:Meet other unpaid carers and chat in a relaxed and informal setting.\n\n\nThis group is chance to meet other unpaid LGBTQ+ carers\, and chat in a relaxed and informal setting. \nMeetings are on the second Saturday of each month from 3-5pm. \nWhat you can expect: \nThese meetups involve group socialising for two hours\, but you are welcome to take a break whenever needed. We will usually be sitting on chairs around a table\, but can sometimes be a little loud if there are other groups there. \nWe will usually be sitting on chairs around a table\, but can move to the sofa area if it’s free and it suits our access needs better. \nIf there are a lot of us\, we might split into two smaller groups to chat. Unfortunately the group can’t provide a BSL interpreter. \nThis is not a masked event\, but wearing a respirator mask is recommended as it will protect both us and the people we care for. SUMMARY:LGBTQ+ Morning Yoga
DESCRIPTION:An hour of yoga for LGBTQ+ people of all abilities\n\n\nJoin us for an hour of yoga at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre. \nYoga is held on an ad-hoc basis on Thursdays\, Fridays and Saturdays from 11am – 12pm. Please check Eventbrite for any changes and ensure you have registered before attending. Yoga mats are provided but please bring your own if you wish. \nSessions are charged on a pay-what-you-can basis. All payments go towards supporting the ongoing work of the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre. \nOne of our wonderful volunteer Yoga facilitators\, Martina\, will be hosting a special yoga class on Saturday 21 June from 11am-12:30pm for International Yoga Day before heading off on a new adventure!  \n11am-12pm \nFull body slow Vinyasa Yoga. This class will link movement breath\, focusing on slow and mindful transitions. We’ll cultivate strength\, flexibility and inner peace. Suitable for all levels. \n12-12:30pm \nDive deeper into yoga after our practice. Eunice provides an environment which is kink\, sexuality\, and consensual non-monogamy/polyamory positive\, and LGBTQIA+ friendly. \nShe’s committed to creating a space that’s welcoming to anyone from a marginalised identity\, especially those who are racially or culturally minoritised. \nEunice uses a combination of therapeutic strategies and specialises in working with people exploring Gender\, Sex(uality)\, and Relationship Diversity (GSRD) issues in a trauma-informed\, racially-aware context. DESCRIPTION:A drop-in workshop for LGBTQ+ people. No experience necessary!\n\n\nA drop-in workshop for LGBTQ+ people of any experience level. Improv is all about collaboration and saying yes to people’s ideas. Follow your spontaneity\, trust your gut and you’ll be surprised at what worlds you can create. \nImprov is not just about being funny; improv is an amazing way to help people dealing with social anxiety or for people that want some practice feeling a little more free in their public speaking. \nThis is a low-stakes workshop where we can share some laughs and maybe even make some new friends. Through games and exercises we’ll create stories\, characters and learn the fundamentals of improvisation. \nNote: Please ensure that you arrive on time for this workshop. DESCRIPTION:This drop-in session is aimed at LGBTQ+ people interested in starting the fostering process.\n\n\nHosted by fostering agency\, Banya\, this session will introduce information and skills to foster for any LGBTQ+ people looking to build their families. \nWe’ll share stories on LGBTQ+ fostering\, what support is offered to LGBTQ+ carers\, how we can support LGBTQ+ youth and answer any questions you might have on this journey. \nThis is a drop-in session where folks can join any time between 1:30 and 3:30pm. \nAbout the facilitator \nChido Poe (she/her) is a social worker\, workshop leader and Managing Director for Banya\, with 14 years of experience in social care. Her master’s in social work focussed on social justice and promoting young people’s right to a decent life. \nBanya is an independent fostering agency\, empowering young people since 1997.
