DESCRIPTION:A space for LGBTQ+ freelancers\, students and work-from-homers\n\n\nJoin us for coffee\, a desk and queer business! \nEvery Wednesday the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre opens its space for freelancers\, students and anyone that work remotely. \nAt 1pm we’ll have a social lunch hour so we can have an arranged time to break for lunch and have a chat. DESCRIPTION:Practical guidance on navigating NHS mental health services\, including self-referrals and available support.\n\n\nAccessing mental health support through the NHS can feel overwhelming\, and many people are unsure where to start. \nThis event provides clear\, practical guidance on navigating NHS mental health services\, including self-referrals\, available support and what to expect from therapy. \nWe will also explore common mental health difficulties\, such as depression and anxiety disorders\, in an interactive session led by your lived experiences. The group gathers one Monday a month to host a variety of activities\, discussions\, and community events to foster a sense of belonging and fun. \nWhether you’re seeking meaningful conversations or just a good time with like-minded people\, Bi the Way is the perfect place for you. \nPlease note Bi the Way is taking place in May on Tuesday 13 at 6:30-8pm. \nAbout the facilitators: \nSophie (she/her) lives in north London with her partner\, in a flat filled with houseplants and books. Sophie has been working in policy and politics for almost ten years. Outside of work she enjoys gardening\, hiking\, going to the gym\, and cooking while singing along (off-key)to music from the 60s and 70s. \nMackenzie (she/her) lives in south London. She’s a graduate student working towards her PhD in Computer Science. We are incredibly excited to welcome Nkenna Akunna to lead us in a Creative Writing workshop\, exploring Grief and Mourning Tradition. \nNkenna Akunna (she/they) is an Igbo playwright\, performer and lecturer from London whose work primarily explores friendship\, time\, labour\, and power. Her debut play cheeky little brown opened at Bristol Old Vic to critical acclaim. They are also Editor at Large at Skin Deep Media\, a collective that makes space for Black creatives and creatives of colour through cultural production. \nThis event is exclusively for the Black LGBTQIA+ community! DESCRIPTION:This guided meditation group creates a unique space for LGBTQ+ people to foster friendship and practice meditation.\n\n\nThe sessions will feature a variety of mindfulness\, loving-kindness and wisdom meditations. There’ll also be sharing and connecting\, poetry and more. Through this\, we’ll cultivate a warm awareness of our own experience and go beyond the individual to explore how we can grow and flourish as a community. There’ll also be the option to socialise in the cafe area after. \nNo prior meditation experience required. Also suitable for those who are trying to establish a regular practice within a supportive environment. \nSessions are free\, with an optional donation towards establishing a permanent LGBTQ+ community centre.
