Callout: We're looking for a Pop-up Barber - London LGBTQ Community Centre

We’re looking for a barber to host a regular pop-up service at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre.

For the past year and a half, Titan Trims, led by Phoenix, has provided reduced-cost and free gender-affirming haircuts from the Centre every two weeks. The pop-up has become an important and much-loved regular service for our community, providing fresh trims, new styles, and haircuts that help them feel more like themselves.

Unfortunately, Titan Trims has had to pause the service for the time being. We want to say a huge thank you to Phoenix for his valued work, and for the hundreds of people who have come to the Centre for a tidy-up, complete re-style, and anything in between. We know this has been an important regular service for the community and we’d like to continue hosting a pop-up barber in our space.

While we keep the regular slot available for Phoenix’s return in the future, we’re looking for a barber who would like to continue offering a fortnightly pop-up service from the centre.

What we’re looking for

We’re keen to hear from LGBTQ+ barbers who:

Can provide a pop-up service every two weeks on a Friday from 1:30-7:30pm
Have experience providing welcoming, inclusive, gender-affirming haircuts for LGBTQ+ communities.
Are confident cutting all hair types and textures
Are happy to run the service as a walk-in session (we don’t provide a booking system)

What we can offer

The pop-up takes place in our Quiet Room, providing a private and welcoming space for appointments.

If you’re able to offer reduced-cost and free haircuts to the community, we’re happy to waive the Quiet Room hire fee, continuing the arrangement we’ve had with Titan Trims. We’d love to continue offering this free service if possible.

If you’re unable to offer free haircuts, we’d still love to hear from you, and can discuss what might be possible.
