DESCRIPTION:A space for LGBTQ+ freelancers\, students and work-from-homers\n\n\nJoin us for coffee\, a desk and queer business! \nEvery Wednesday the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre opens its space for freelancers\, students and anyone that work remotely. \nAt 1pm we’ll have a social lunch hour so we can have an arranged time to break for lunch and have a chat. It can be tricky to fit in a proper lunch break and we are hoping this will help. \nIf you don’t want to join\, that’s okay! It’ll just be an hour with slightly more chatting and background noise\, no pressure at all. With facilitated discussions and different topics and activities each month.  \nAttend this first get-together and help shape what we do in the coming months. \nAbout the facilitators \nBrixton Umbrella Circle is an independent\, peer led\, self-help group for older (50+) LGBTQ’s. DESCRIPTION:This guided meditation group creates a unique space for LGBTQ+ people to foster friendship and practice meditation.\n\n\nThe sessions will feature a variety of mindfulness\, loving-kindness and wisdom meditations. Through this\, we’ll cultivate a warm awareness of our own experience and go beyond the individual to explore how we can grow and flourish as a community. Also suitable for those who are trying to establish a regular practice within a supportive environment. \nSessions are free\, with an optional donation towards establishing a permanent LGBTQ+ community centre. His work explores trans masculinity\, class\, and neurodivergence through poetry\, storytelling\, and zine-making. \nSam has also worked in youth advocacy and homelessness support\, with a focus on care-led\, accessible spaces. \nHe lives with ADHD\, dyslexia\, and dyspraxia\, which informs everything he does. Whether Sam’s behind a camera or holding space in a group\, he’s interested in gentleness\, visibility\, and real connection. \nAccessibility \nThis is an informal group with prompts for inspiration which Jay will provide both written and verbally. People are free to explore their ideas or be given instruction as required. DESCRIPTION:This guided meditation group creates a unique space for LGBTQ+ people to foster friendship and practice meditation.\n\n\nThe sessions will feature a variety of mindfulness\, loving-kindness and wisdom meditations. There’ll also be sharing and connecting\, poetry and more. Through this\, we’ll cultivate a warm awareness of our own experience and go beyond the individual to explore how we can grow and flourish as a community. There’ll also be the option to socialise in the cafe area after. \nNo prior meditation experience required. Also suitable for those who are trying to establish a regular practice within a supportive environment. \nSessions are free\, with an optional donation towards establishing a permanent LGBTQ+ community centre. DESCRIPTION:Meet other unpaid carers and chat in a relaxed and informal setting.\n\n\nThis group is chance to meet other unpaid LGBTQ+ carers\, and chat in a relaxed and informal setting. \nMeetings are on the second Saturday of each month from 3-5pm. \nWhat you can expect: \nThese meetups involve group socialising for two hours\, but you are welcome to take a break whenever needed. We will usually be sitting on chairs around a table\, but can sometimes be a little loud if there are other groups there. \nWe will usually be sitting on chairs around a table\, but can move to the sofa area if it’s free and it suits our access needs better. \nIf there are a lot of us\, we might split into two smaller groups to chat. Unfortunately the group can’t provide a BSL interpreter. \nThis is not a masked event\, but wearing a respirator mask is recommended as it will protect both us and the people we care for.
