Please note this event is for Black LGBTQ+ people. \nTopher is an acclaimed filmmaker and activist\, exploring the rich history and pivotal milestones of Black LGBTQ+ communities in Britain. \nThe event includes a panel talk following the screening where artists\, activists and cultural historians\, including Campbell himself\, discuss the profound impact of these events and the importance of archiving our own histories. \nAbout Topher Campbell \nTopher Campbell is an artist and filmmaker whose 30-year output spans film\, theatre\, performance\, writing\, archive\, exhibitions and sculpture. This progressive course offers a welcoming space to explore the beautiful rhythms and sensual movements of Kizomba\, reimagined through a queer and inclusive lens. \nEach week\, you will learn the fundamentals of this Angolan dance style and music genre\, from its signature steps to its cultural significance\, all while embracing creativity\, authentic self-expression\, and community. \nThis course is designed to build confidence and skill progressively\, and open to all levels and everyone.
