THE LINES
He leapt forward
Just as the constellation shifted
The day fell down
And I was gazing at my empty palm
Was there even a grain of sand, of Neverland?
The lines spoke their mystery
We are everything you tried to hold
Every object slipping from your grasp
We are your gentle stroking
Your clenched fist
The kissing of your own flesh in itself
Channels for the juice of a peach
When all is lost
We’ll only deepen
