Weekly events

From ballet classes to counselling sessions, we host all kinds of regular events at the Centre.

The events listed below are spaces we host either weekly or bi-weekly. Check out some of our monthly programming here and visit our Eventbrite page to book.

Monday

The centre is closed for private bookings. Please note we do occasionally book events open to the community, but the Centre will be closed during them.

Tuesday

+ Mobility and Joint Health Class (weekly)

Learn how to connect with your body, increase mobility and build your joint health so that you can have freedom of movement throughout life.

Any level – beginner, intermediate and advanced movers are welcome. If you want to learn more about your body and feel great, this is the space for you.

Build mobility and body control and you’ll notice that ‘tight’, ‘restricted’ feeling in your muscles subsides.

Wednesday

+ LGBTQ+ Ballet (weekly)

LGBTQ+ friendly beginners and intermediate ballet class run by Ballet in the Park. A holistic practice that will improve your strength, coordination and flexibility.

+ LGBTQ+ Coworking Space (weekly)

A weekly Coworking Space for LGBTQ+ freelancers, students and work-from-homers.

Note: The Centre is open for walk-ins on this day. Booking a ticket means we will know how many desk spaces to allocate for people working.

+ NA Queer to Stay (weekly)

Every Wednesday we host a space for a Narcotics Anonymous meeting, Queer to Stay.

When: Weekly on Wednesday

Thursday

+ Functional Strength Class (weekly)

Our Functional Strength Class facilitated by Workout With Pride emphasises mindful strength training through visualisation and functional movements that prepare your body for daily activities.

During the session you’ll be led through a series of exercises that utilise all planes of movement, providing resistance through body weight and various equipment.

+ Yoga (weekly)

Yoga happens with a rotation of different instructors on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. All levels of experience are welcome and we can provide a yoga mat if you need one.

+ E.H. Counselling (every 2nd and 4th Thursday)

LGBTQIA+ and polyamory knowledgeable, racially conscious, sex-positive, intersectional therapy with therapist, Eunice Hung.

Eunice is a BACP registered integrative therapist, offering a warm, non-judgemental, supportive and personalised approach.

She aims to help you explore and process any significant life issues, traumatic history, unwanted thoughts and beliefs, and compulsive behaviours that are holding you back.

She’s committed to creating a space that’s welcoming to anyone from a marginalised identity, especially those who are racially or culturally minoritised.

Eunice provides an environment which is kink, sexuality, and consensual non-monogamy/polyamory positive, and LGBTQIA+ friendly.

Friday

+ Yoga (weekly)

+ 50+ Friday Social (weekly)

Formerly organised by Opening Doors, this is a weekly meetup for LGBTQ+ people over 50.

When: Weekly
Time: 1-3pm

+ Spiritual Life Coaching with Bronze (every 2nd, 3rd and 4th Friday)

Bronze (they/them) uses tools including – conversation, tarot, breathing and movement to support you in engaging your own natural means for growth and achievement.

They approach things from “a ‘spiritual’ perspective; that is to say – all things are sacred (of value) and connected.”

Instead of trying to change external factors, the focus will be on reframing – to open/change your perspective, question fixed beliefs, and to accept life on its own terms.

This is so you can respond to the present rather than reacting to (and re-enacting) the projections of the past.

Saturday

+ Kung-Fu/Self-Defence Class (every 2nd, 3rd and 4th Saturday)

Join a Kung Fu/Self-Defence Class with gold medal winner, Maki Nakasone.

When: 2nd, 3rd and 4th Saturday of the month

+Thai Massage with Thania (every 1st and 3rd Saturday)

Thai Yoga Massage is conducted fully clothed on the floor on a futon mat.

Thania (they/them) uses compression and passive stretching in prone, supine, side-lying and seated positions. It is as wonderful as it sounds! Thania is offering three 50min sessions every Saturday from 1 to 4:30pm.

Sunday

+ Queer Workout Club (weekly)

A safer space for LGBTQ+ folks to come together and get fit outside of conventional fitness spaces with The Proud Gym.

At each class, expect to work your way around a 40min cardio and strength training circuit. To finish off each session, we come together for a friendly bit of competition (and the chance to win a gold chocolate coin!).

All fitness levels are welcome.

+ The Community Acupuncture Clinic (every 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sunday)

Discover a natural way to improve your overall health, energy and sense of wellbeing through Auricular Acupuncture.

Some of the benefits could include:

  • Restore body to a state of homeostasis (balancing Yin and Yang)
  • Increased calmness

Note: The Community Acupuncture Clinic doesn’t take place on the 1st Sunday of the month. Breathwork sessions run at this time instead.

+ Community Meditation (weekly)

This guided meditation group creates a unique space for LGBTQ+ people to foster friendship and practice meditation.

We have a rotation of facilitators and all levels of experience with meditation are welcome.

Yoga mats can be provided if you need them.
