Queer Migrant Scrapbooking

January 25 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Free
Join us for an easy-going scrapbooking gathering for queer migrants.

Join us for an easy-going scrapbooking gathering for queer migrants!

During this gathering, you can:

  • Start your own scrapbook.
  • Explore a part of your identity or life through scrapbooking, whether that be your queer identity, migrant experience, cultural background, etc.
  • Connect with other queer migrants over some tea and coffee from the venue.

What to bring

Bring scraps that represent bits of your life – tickets, doodles, poems, photographs, stickers. During the event, you will put them all together into a scrapbook to gain insight into yourself.

You are encouraged to bring your own journal, whether it’s a brand-new one or one you started years ago but never finished. However, the host will bring materials for scrapbooking as well, including empty notebooks and scraps, so if you can’t bring your own materials, that’s no stress!

Other details

This is a low-stakes event where we gather and do arts and crafts with other people around.

You can arrive and leave whenever you would like within the two hours that this event is running.

If you do not want to engage in conversation with fellow attendees, you will be able to put a sticker on to signify that.

The host will bring an example scrapbook for inspiration. The host will also be around for any questions and requests for ideas.

We are a collective of people from all walks of life. We invite everyone who shares our vision to join us in building a just society.

The primary facilitator, N, is a teacher and host at Queer Salsa London. They also organise the Queer Armenian Socials at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre.
