Role description
The London LGBTQ+ Community Centre is looking for a group of volunteers to help manage our social media accounts.
These volunteers will work alongside our Communications Manager to deliver regular updates about our weekly events across our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, with a primary focus on Instagram.
We’d love to have people on our volunteering team who know their way around Instagram – from creating graphics and reels, to writing fun captions and sharing stories.
We’re also looking for people who can write engaging Twitter threads and keep our Facebook up to date.
If you don’t have any professional experience with social media, that’s okay! We just want someone who is passionate about the work we do, loves socials, and has a flair for copywriting and/or designing.
Training will be provided by our Communications Manager, though basic knowledge of Instagram, Facebook and/or Twitter will be required.
Role requirements
- Writing social media copy that advertises our upcoming events and event schedules
- Writing alternative text for social media posts
- Designing on-brand graphics for our events and event schedules on Canva
- Scheduling posts on Canva, Meta Business and Tweetdeck
- Updating our lnk.bio to reflect our Instagram grid
Volunteers should be able to commit to four hours a month (i.e one hour per week). If you’re able to do more hours – that’s great! Let us know in the application for the role.
We will work around the hours that you’re available for.
