DramaQueers
May 4 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Free
We meet every first Sunday of the month to explore different methods of performance. We usually start with some warm up games before then either devising some short scenes, reading some scripts, play with moving our bodies or whatever other creative activities take our fancy!
We are an informal group aimed at having fun and creating community and space for everyone to feel safe and be free to explore their selves through drama and performance.
The workshops are run by Beckah from the London Intersectional Arts Collective. They are trans/genderqueer and disabled and their aim is to make these workshops accessible for all.
We welcome everybody regardless of orientation, gender, age, race, ethnicity – all we require is an open mind, a desire to try, respect for pronouns and a wish to perform! Doesn’t matter if you are a newbie or pro, just wear some comfy clothes and come along.
About the organiser:
Beckah (they/them) is a theatre maker/facilitator and genderqueer person. They studied acting/singing at Sylvia Young and recently graduated from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
They are currently studying their Masters in Theater for Community and Education at Mountview Academy of Theater Arts and are a part of The Old Vic’s Frontline Facilitator’s.
