About the facilitators
Brixton Umbrella Circle is an independent, peer led, self-help group for older (50+) LGBTQ’s. It offers a forum for mutual support, socialising and addressing individual and collective experiences (past and current) in a social, cultural and political context.
Umbrellas provide shelter and is used as a term for covering all – and because our hearts and minds can be like umbrellas – useless if we do not open them.
Cheyeanne (she/they) is a dedicated advocate and changemaker currently working for LGBTQ+ charity, Lambeth Links.
With a background in LGBTQ+ youth advocacy and activism, their wealth of experience spans across all things queer, and they are committed to influencing meaningful change for their community.
Cheyeanne is passionate about bringing people together through conversation, knowledge sharing, and genuine connection, and is keen to help build intergenerational, intersectional, and community-led spaces for queers young and old alike.
