Archives of a Present Future
A panel discussion and workshop led by global majority LGBTQIA+ artists, filmmakers and archivists, exploring archives as powerful tools for shaping the future.
This dynamic event, held at BFI’s Reuben Library, explores how archives can be reclaimed and reimagined as radical tools for shaping inclusive futures. Through conversation, creativity and collaboration, we’ll uncover the power of storytelling, memory and preservation in challenging dominant narratives and centering queer voices of colour. Together, we’ll examine how personal and collective histories can inspire new possibilities and spark change. From grassroots collections to experimental film, our panelists will share strategies for activating archives as living, evolving sites of resistance and imagination.
