Black Gay Love on Screen: Moonlight
An intimate, alcohol-free community event, with a screening of Moonlight, for Black gay men aged 30 and above.
Organised by Black Queer Men Hangouts (30+), the evening will start with a screening of Moonlight, a landmark film highlighting Black queer male love and relationships. There is an optional 30 minute social once the film ends if you’d like to stick around for chat.
Please note: this event is strictly for Black gay men 30+.
Following the screening, attendees will participate in one-on-one conversations designed to foster connection, reflection, and shared joy.
We want this to be a safe, joyful, and inclusive space for everyone. Here is what to expect!
- Schedule: 4pm arrival, 4:05pm film screening start (1h 51m), 6pm optional social
- Comfort: This is a fully seated event. You are welcome to move, stretch, or step out at any time.
- Interaction: The first two hours are quiet. The final 30 minutes is an optional social—feel free to stay for a chat!
- Viewing: The film will be shown with English Subtitles (SDH) for d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing guests.
- Alcohol-free: This is a dry space focused on safe connection.
- Venue: Fully step-free with an accessible toilet. Lights will be dimmed during the film and raised slowly at 6pm
This event is part of a regular meetup for Black gay men at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre.
