Navigating NHS Mental Health Support and Understanding Mental Wellbeing

May 18 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Free
Practical guidance on navigating NHS mental health services, including self-referrals and available support.

Accessing mental health support through the NHS can feel overwhelming, and many people are unsure where to start.

This event provides clear, practical guidance on navigating NHS mental health services, including self-referrals, available support and what to expect from therapy.

We will also explore common mental health difficulties, such as depression and anxiety disorders, in an interactive session led by your lived experiences. Alternatively, informal drop-in sessions will offer a relaxed space to ask questions and receive signposting to resources.

We’ll focus on information and understanding rather than psychological therapy, empowering you to take the next steps in your mental health journey.

There can be 1-2 comfort breaks and no need to stand.

About the facilitator

Anson Chau (he/him) is a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist currently working in the NHS.

He has worked in mental health since 2019, with experience supporting marginalised communities facing intersectional barriers to care.

His work spans one-to-one therapy and group interventions, with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusivity.

Anson is passionate about breaking down systemic barriers in mental health and keen to contribute his skills and experience to community spaces that prioritise wellbeing and support for all.
