The Harvey Monologues
February 15, 2025 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
FreeBecoming of age in the LGBTQ+ community can be a lonely and isolating experience.
The Harvey Monologues performance hopes to raise awareness of the real issues within the community through the fictitious character of Harvey, who represents some of the people, thoughts, mental health challenges and issues faced in later years.
The monologues will be performed by members of Melanin Vybz (50+ BPOC meetup at the Centre) including Richard Thompson, Jeffrey Pickering, Jay Patel and Bryan Murphy.
About the facilitator
Richard Thompson is a visual and written creative. He’s a member of The Gay Authors Workshop (GAW) and Paradise Press and specialises in written poetry, novels and monologues.
Alongside this, Richard is also a lyricist and singer, having performed regularly in theatres, and undertaken commissions for BBC TV amongst other organisations.
