TRANS-forming AI for Us by Us
October 25 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
FreeWe are Teddi and Rayanne, MA students in UX, and we’re excited to host a workshop for the trans, non-binary and gender-fluid community on Artificial Intelligence—no prior knowledge needed!
This event offers a chance to explore AI’s impact and collaboratively reimagine a softer, more inclusive version using physical materials. We’ll provide everything and guide you through the Creative Toolkit Design method. There will be time to share ideas, connect with others, and enjoy refreshments in a welcoming space. Whether you’re attending to just connect with others, we’d love that!
In this workshop, we’ll use the “free flow writing” technique to create a safe space for sharing and discussing trans+ and queer everyday experiences, uplifting one another beyond the “big moments” that cis-normative society often focuses on, such as coming out, surgery, or assessments.
We’ll also explore how AI and technology are shaping our daily lives as trans+ and queer individuals, showcasing examples of AI designed with and for the trans+ community.
Through the “creative toolkit” design method, we’ll brainstorm and reflect, individually or as a group, on how we can reimagine AI and technology to better serve our lived experiences. Teddi and I will also share our own design ideas to ensure the project remains true and authentic to the trans+ and queer community.
