CLOCK

If you clock me
Send help.
Because time is meant
To go on, keep pace
And now I’m stuck
Between a rock and a hard place
My clock is a hard face
To shake, I must save face
Make sure I don’t lose grace
Oh wait
Grace is what had me clocked
In the first place.
No no no!
If you clock me
Don’t bother.
Whatever you do
Spare me from truth
Stop the clock, give me some space
Gotta keep them fooled!
Keep this between us three
Me and you
The other me
Turn away slowly
Don’t cause a scene
Just smile and admire
Extinguish the fire
Of your mind’s desire
Nothing to see here!
Ever-growing space
A void I’ve felt before
Halts me in my footsteps
Reverses the chase.
WAIT!
If you clock me
Love me.
Hold me, mould me

Take time to get to know me
Let time suspend me
Enrapture me, arrest me
Shake me, console me
If all else fails, please don’t forsake me
Like the ones who made me
Catch me, take me
By the hands, by the heart
And let me be
And let me be
And let me be.
