OPENING DOORS

I was at home and so alone
I never heard you knocking
A reflection in the mirror told me a journey of lies
I believed to see, I believed to be me

The hour of twelve is approaching
Every second bears heavy inside my aching heart
A home is not a home without a comfort
My mind leads me towards a midnight reality

I close my eyes and count to ten
A feeling of beauty and smiles I clearly see
But the waking morning will be broken
I believe to see, I want to be me

A television filled with a circus in attendance
Climbs into my feminine mind
The pose from my body doesn’t look the same
A bigoted wound attacking my scars
I’m a lioness within their den of games
Never fuel a fire from a darkened flame

Before the social war we had no labels or a right of cause
What happened, it happened in time
A thought in denial and a thought insecure
Hatred was never born into the seeds of this earth
Happily fulfilled is a voice out-looked with pride and to be heard

Rebirthed into my natural light
Biology made from a theory and of a chemical fright
Enriched is my soul and my internal beginning
I am proud for life and the transition in me
Locked behind a door for a long time from their fear
A moment in time, is a moment to see
To know who you are, is a beginning for all, the beginning of me
The flight of a bird  travelling towards a rainbow of peace
Opening the doors with a key, is a key of existence
The key of  understanding life
