they tried to tell us love was blinding
we didn’t listen
i loved you
from your face, to your lips, to your beautiful eyes (every detail)
and from those lips came beautifully constructed lies
and from those lies would come my demise
our love was quickly flooded by cries
i was never good at goodbyes
i engraved the bullet with your name
i wanted you to be the last thing piercing through my mind
your toxic love seeped like blood, from my head to my hands, but always landed in my heart (your home)
when i look at life all i see is you
they told us love was blinding
we should’ve listened
