Covid-19 has changed everything, for everyone. Not only has it meant we can’t be together, but it’s also changed the way we navigate and interact with all spaces – including queer spaces.
Back in 2018, we ran a research project looking into the need for the LGBTQ+ community centre, asking community leaders, community members, groups and charities to take part. This included questions on the services you’d like to see provided, even what you would want the space to look like.
As we begin to recover from the pandemic, it’s essential that we take stock. We must check in with the community and find out if our initial research still stands, or if you need more physical, more digital, more – or less – of anything, to make the most of the space.
The Centre will be a place to heal, to connect, to renew. We will be what you make us – for the community, by the community.
