The London LGBTQ+ Community Centre is an award-winning charity launched by a team of volunteers in 2017. In December 2021 we opened our first physical space in London’s bankside.
Our mission is to provide London with a sober, intersectional, intergenerational, community centre and café where all LGBTQ+ people feel welcome and supported, can build connections, and flourish. Our vision is for a more connected, belonging and thriving LGBTQ+ community in London.
This is a very exciting time at the Centre. In the last year, our team has grown considerably and we’re looking for someone to support our Communications and Marketing Manager to promote the Centre and the community.
Overall purpose of the role
A key responsibility of the Communications and Marketing Assistant will be to promote our programme of community-led events at the Centre – an exciting mix of community events, sports and wellbeing sessions, arts and crafts and the widest range of workshops and meet-ups. With an average of 25 events weekly, in 2023 we hosted over 600 public activities, attended by over 5,000 people.
Our online platforms have grown significantly in the last two years – we now have over 26k followers on Instagram, 11.5k on Twitter/X and over 5k on Facebook and Eventbrite.
As we continue to evolve, we’re looking into the future of the Centre and how we can reach even more LGBTQ+ people across London. Therefore, this is a crucial role to market the Centre – so people know we’re here! – and to tell the stories of the community who use the space.
