Black History Month Poetry Circle

October 13 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

A poetry workshop for experienced poets, amateur poets and non-poets exploring the range of emotions we are usually taught to shy away from.

Code-switching and masking necessitate that we only share positive emotions to ensure we do not intimidate and offend those who set the status quo.

For Black people, our emotions are still often misinterpreted.

In this workshop, we’ll be exploring the full range of our experiences and learning to express it. We’ll be delving into feelings of anger, shame, desire and whatever else exists in the shadow.
