Report: ‘A wholesome queer living room: Accessing the impact of the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre (2024-2025)

  • Updates

Our latest report, ‘A wholesome queer living room’: Accessing the impact of the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre (2024-2025), is here!

Research Lead, Helen Jones, joined us for a year to find out about the community’s experience of the Centre and what they’d love to see from us in future.

Alongside a team of volunteers, Helen met with folks in 1:1 interviews, focus groups, hosted a Community Listening Day and carried out surveys.

We’ve turned these findings into a new report – ‘A wholesome queer living room’: Accessing the impact of the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre (2024-2025).

In the report, you’ll learn more about the history of the Centre, what we’ve achieved over the last three years and what’s to come as we celebrate the fourth year since opening our doors.

Here is a sneak peek at what the community has shared:

  • 97% rated the Centre extremely or very inclusive
  • 88% agreed that coming to the Centre had a positive impact on their health and wellbeing
  • 85% definitely or very probably experienced an improved sense of connection with or belonging to LGBTQ+ communities

“The Centre is an amazing place that has been extremely important to me since I started coming two years ago. I really value the experience of community and connection in a sober and supportive space.”

“It just means so much to me, and it means so much to so many people. I know that it is there and it exists, and that we can access it if we ever need, if we ever need or want to.”

Thank you to everyone who was involved throughout the project – from interviews and focus groups to gathering the feedback into this report. Your thoughts have been invaluable and we will continue to make the Centre a welcoming and loving space for you.

We’re diving into the report at a Community Listening and Research Launch event to mark our 4th anniversary! Book your tickets on Eventbrite.

We’re really grateful for the feedback we receive, which is central to shaping the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre and the experience folks have when they walk through the doors.

Feedback also helps us to secure funding and shows the impact of the Centre and why London’s LGBTQ+ community need the space. If you’ve attended an event or popped in to chill, we’d love to hear from you!
